WE BOUGHT A MAYTAG TOP LOAD CENTENNIAL WASHER JULY OF 2011.   WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE COMING IN THE DOOR.  IT WAS PURCHASED AT HARRINGTON APPLIANCE IN HARRINGTON DELAWARE .   THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED IS THAT THE CLOTHES WERE NOT GETTING CLEAN AND A CYCLE TAKES AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME.   IF YOU HAVE A SOUNDPROOF LAUNDRY ROOM, YOU MIGHT BE OK.  IT IS VERY NOISY AND TODAY WE HAD TO REBALANCE ONE LOAD ELEVEN TIMES.  RIDICULOUS.  WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND HAD A REPAIRMAN LOOK AT IT, TO NO AVAIL.  LONG STORY SHORT, IT IS A CRUMMY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE PAID.   I GUESS WE PAID BY THE DECIBEL, BECAUSE WE GOT PLENTY OF BANG FOR OUR BUCK.

    This washer needs to be recalled!!! Money for the washer, energy costs, water usage!!!!! I only wish i could get back all the time i have spent standing in front of it, trying to make the sob run!!! Recall........Reimbursement!!!!

    Worst machine ive ever dealt with, it doesn't spin out,it eats your clothes, and it leaks water all over the floor 😡😡

    I have been unhappy with my Maytag Centennial as well. I have to wash clothes on the Bulky Sheets setting for the clothes to get clean. It takes at least one hour to wash a load of clothes, and it is extremely loud. I don't like to have to "clean" my washing machine once a month. It is a machine that is supposed to clean clothes. It should already be clean. And just now, it has stopped working. I press the start button and the "lid locked" light flashes several times and then nothing happens. The lid is not locked and the washing cycle does not start. The washing machine is only 1 year and 4 months old.

    We have had our Maytag Centennial for about two years and like many people, began having trouble within the first few months.  Clearly - Maytag is no longer Maytag.  There is no way this company didn't already know that this machine does not do even basic laundry without some kind of major hassle.  Will NEVER buy another Maytag and will discourage anyone else from doing so.

    I really hate this washer. I know these posts were long ago, but my husband and I bought these (washer/dryer) like 2.5 years ago. I have had nothing but headaches from them (too loud), shifting the clothes around is not supposed to be my job ( I should just use a wash board) and some how I think the previous washes hold the water beneath the tub for the next wash and reuses the water. I have had clothes (white) being washed and come out with a hint of blue or red stains when there was nothing in the wash that had color. Ruined a lot of nice clothes because they were stained.

    Don't get this washer/dryer - get either an old one that fills the tub with water or a normal washer that you can look at water depth and don't have to wait to UNLOCK the damn door.

    I purchased a Maytag washer less than 90 days ago.  The model # MVWC565FW0 from Lacks, and board went out on it????  I bought it on the impression that Maytag were very dependable???

    I bought our maytag centennial from clarks apliance in greenville ky the first time we tried to wash clothes the motor started smoking,had a hard time getting it replaced, now it jumps off the hangers when spinning, this is junk maytag use to be a good maching, never buy one again. wasted $500. looking for a different brand.

    I bought this machine 2 years ago from Home Depot for around $ 440.00, it is junk, I think  it worked ok for about 8 months but even new it was noisy and took forever to wash a load of clothes. Now it just sits on sensing and locks and unlocks and clicks and then sits in sensing mode til I unplug it. Don't buy, and listen to the reviews

    Yes...We have all the same problems listed here ,however ,i  havn't seen any mention of towels, sheets, shirts coming out with "holes' chewed in them. Apparently they are getting caught underneath the agitator and scrubbing the holes in the cloth.  There is a rough edge under the bottom gap of the agitator, probably catching the fabric.  What a poor quality machine !!!!!

    We have the same issues as pretty much everyone. Our apartment came with the Maytag Centennial washer and dryer and the washer is, by far, the worst washer I have ever used. Why hasn't there been a recall???

    I have a Maytag Bravos XL it is 4 years old it will not spin out and leaves my clothes soaking wet. I have tryed running the washer without any clothes in it and still will not spin out.

    Lots of wasted material in this pile of junk called a washing machine !!! Taking it to the recycling yard, can't wait to push it off the back of my truck.

    Very disappointed in this maytag centennial washer that I bought at home depot only 3 years old and already having trouble with this washer that I paid $500.00 for down the drain for and will not wash anything and do not like the locking lid. I will not buy another maytag washer or dryer every again!! I want them to replace my washer not just repair it for me someone please help me.

    We bought our washer about three years ago.After 2 years it is sooooo loud when it is running that you cannot even hear each other voices when you are only a foot apart!

    I guess I'm not alone when it comes to this washer. I actually hate to do laundry anymore because I am constantly having to untangle my clothes from underneath the agitator and then it knocks the washer off balance. I will never buy another MAYTAG again

      I contacted my  home depot  customer care dept. about wanting to replaced my washer. They said if your washer is under warranty to contact Maytag directly at 1-800-344-1274
      They will be able to let you know more about getting your washer replaced.
      Great I am getting some where with this now! I will contact them tomorrow.

    Totally Ripped Off
    The Maytag Centennial is the WORST washer I have ever owned!! It takes forever to go through a wash cycle and doesn’t even get the garment completely wet which is absolutely disgusting. Forget the claim of saving on water because you have to wash each SMALL load several times on different settings to achieve what should be accomplished in one wash cycle. I feel completely ripped off and wonder if Maytag would consider replacing the washer (in name only) and reimbursing me for my water bills? I think not. If you’re looking for a dependable piece of machinery stay away from Maytag!!
