Under CA law is is harassment to call someone repeatedly and not say anything (silence to intimidate).

This company (319) 274-1902 called my home several times per week for 2 weeks.  When I or my wife answered the call there was no response - just silence.  Finally I had had enough and called back.  I asked immediately for them to stop calling me and to put me on their do not call list.  I was told they don't have a do not call list and then I was asked if "Valentina Johnson" lived here.  I told them no and tried to tell them how upset I was with them but they just said "all you have to say is its a wrong number."  Nonsense, they were clearly calling to get hold of this Valentina (my wife's name is Johnson and first name starts with V but not Valentina) and they were not going to say antything but keep calling until someone with the right accent answered the phone or someone called them back.  Silence being used to intimidate.  And they were targeting anyone with a name similar to this Valentina Johonson.

These guys need to be put out of business.

    I have a better one , I just checked my checking Act. They just did a elect. Check saying my wife oked it for $51.00 without our ok...... Some how they got our checking act. #

    I read the above complaints and I, too, have been receiving these calls on a daily basis.  I know they are not for me as my husband and I are in Chapter 13 bankruptcy and all of our debts are included in that and we are paying them off.  I do not answer unidentified calls or unknown callers as I don't like getting caught into surveys, telemarketing, etc.  They have called 3 times so far today.  They call anywhere from 3-5 or more times in a day starting in the morning and going through the afternoon.  They never leave a message and I do believe I have answered the phone a couple of times and they never answered me.   I live in Michigan and last week there was a segment on our news that said that there was a harrassment law that many people do not know about it and you can sue them for harrassing you.  It is considered harrassment when you get multiple daily phone calls like this.  Some people did get some pretty nice settlements.  It is not a "get-rich" settlement, but they were like $1500 or so.  I think some got more, depending on what it was involved.  You need to keep records of the calls and if they answer or you answer, keep records of what is said.  My phone actually keeps logs of my calls on my computer.  I am thinking I may look into this lawsuit for harrassment and I am sure they are not calling me.  We have had several debt collection calls for other people who previously had our phone number; but, most of them when we tell them we are not them and to please remove our number, they have done so.  You could have something there, J.Heath.  I have wondered about that before, too.  I will be on the phone with someone and then they will beep in and sometimes call me 2-3 times while I am on my call and right after as well.  The number that calls me is 877-224-6529.

      I have an adversary attorney for a different matter, but was told about a couple getting harassment calls, they sued and was awarded $5 million.  Have to keep track of the calls, record them, caller ID shows the number, time and date, take pictures, you need hard proof.  Normally, these attorneys work on contingency if you have a case.

    This # This company (319) 274-1902 keeps calling but never gives any info wish they would stop calling or tell me why there calling they don't even have a name or my info right and why would I give someone that if they don't have info . I placed it on the do not call list and there has been no more calls

    They have been trying to contact my minor child who has never signed a contract or anything of the sort. And her phone is prepaid. what other debts do they collect?

      i.e. medical or dental, otherwise they may have erroneously skip-traced a name.  If it's a medical debt, they should already have an accurate address, and you should already have received bills by mail.

      Cbe should be erased... permanently... these cyber terrorists use spoofed #s to attempt to collect bogus INVENTED debt from unsuspecting # holders...they WILL attempt to collect on whatever name u give them even after being informed no such person here....dont believe me check the internet and virtually  every block app lists this p.o.s. shell company as fraudulent-scammer...that this alleged company is allowed to still exist is an insult to justice and GROSS NEGLIGENCE on part of ftc and fcc. Their latest spoofed # is 866-913-3135...hope something tragic happens to this choad company's employee.

    This so called collection agency is out to rip people off! What are they doing? Getting commission for calling everyone in the US? I refuse to speak to anyone who can't speak clear English! And if we don't owe anyone, why do they continue to pest people? I think it could also be terrorist groups hijacking our phones!

    you have HOUNDED us since jan. 5, 2016 with at least 3 calls per day, you NEVER say anything, you NEVER ask for anyone. this is terrorizing American citizens during war, stop fuking with me or ELSE!!!

    They're also using 762-583-2058.  I received several calls from them that were never answered.  This afternoon, they called and I answered the phone.  They were looking for someone with the same name that lives in the same town, but the address they gave as well as the last four digits of their SSN aren't related to me.  On top of that, the phone number is not even in my name.

    I don't know who they want, however I am tired of them calling my number, numerous times daily.  I don't answer.  I don't owe anyone.

    These calls from CBE began about a month ago.   Their message always goes to the voice mail.  They say that they are from CBE (a collection agency) and leave a number to call back.  They seem to call everyday, sometimes multiple times.  This is some sort of a scam as we have no outstanding debts except for credit cards and those balances are paid completely as soon as the bills come in.    We just allow all calls to go to our active voice mail and, if we are available, screen each and every call.  Those from an unfamiliar caller are ignored.  We simply erase all unwanted messages.  Caller ID allows us to see who is calling and if the number and/or person is unknown to us we simply screen the call before actually answering. Why?  Because over the past 10 years or so telemarketers and scam artists seem to be engaging in a relentless campaign to sell their products or scam people with fraudulent means and claims.   Collection agencies (obvious scams ) call asking for people we have never heard of.   Some have actually engaged in threats of doing something with our bank accounts in the name of some unknown person they are trying to reach at our number.  Home remodeling companies want to sell us their "products".  Solar energy companies are relentless.   When we are busy conducting business we are interrupted and we have to stop and see who is calling.  Why do they think that they have the right to use our time like this?  We simply do not have the time to deal with these scum who invade our privacy.
