Under CA law is is harassment to call someone repeatedly and not say anything (silence to intimidate).

This company (319) 274-1902 called my home several times per week for 2 weeks.  When I or my wife answered the call there was no response - just silence.  Finally I had had enough and called back.  I asked immediately for them to stop calling me and to put me on their do not call list.  I was told they don't have a do not call list and then I was asked if "Valentina Johnson" lived here.  I told them no and tried to tell them how upset I was with them but they just said "all you have to say is its a wrong number."  Nonsense, they were clearly calling to get hold of this Valentina (my wife's name is Johnson and first name starts with V but not Valentina) and they were not going to say antything but keep calling until someone with the right accent answered the phone or someone called them back.  Silence being used to intimidate.  And they were targeting anyone with a name similar to this Valentina Johonson.

These guys need to be put out of business.

    I also keep getting calls from the”CBE Group” claiming they’re a debt collector and want me to call them back at this number. I never answer the phone. I don’t know how to stop them from calling me. The calls are obviously a scam.

      Very true David. I kept getting these damned harassment calls. My number is on he National Do not call list, I have filed over 30 complaints to the Federal Trade Commission, filed  complaint against CBE with. The BBB of Tucson, filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, blocked all unwanted calls, filed dispute forms with the 3 major credit reporting agencies to have them be removed from my reports, many of us don’t owe anything to those scammers/harassers that need to be stopped.

        I just filed a complaint with the Iowa State Attorney General’s Office about being constantly harassed by CBE Group, and like many of us who have and are complain8ngvabout them want the harassment, & wrongful accusation of having false/bogus debts that don’t exist at all. Now it’s wait for the outcome. Those of us who do have cell phones we should have them turned off nationwide for a day or 2, hat would send a message loud & clear to these robocallers, harassers that they have no right to call & harass, they must be stopped NOW! Not in the next century, but NOW,
