I was duped into paying for a service that was not preformed on my computer.  I asked for three programs to be removed and Adobe Flash properly installed on my computer.  In fact I thought  I had or was in contact with the Adobe company.   I am in desperate need of  a refund of my money.   My  computer is not working properly and I am out $255.++.

GuruAid id a scam! They tok an hour and a half trying to convince me that a simple browser extention problem (Skype dial service)which was causing a persistant application exception was a whole host of viruses! They took an item from my event viewer and tried to aledge that this proved trhat all my drives and emails were infected. They took control of my computer and downloaded AVG PC Tuneup 2011 and tried to say that the problems it found were viruses and wanted $399.00 for three years of service or $135 to fix my problems today. I hung up the phone and disconnected my wifi before they could do more damage.

DO NOT USE GuruAid! They are liars who try to make a simple browser error into a $400.00 sacamm. tThey should not be allowed to advertise on Google!!!!!

I just bought avg security online and could not download it.I called the help line and got this Garuaid.I felt very pressured to buy on top of what I already paid for the security another $169.99.I am a senior with a very limited income, but the guy told me I had a lot of infections in the computer that avg didn't help.I don't really understand a lot about the computer as I only started using it a short time ago. Anyway he took control of my computer after giving me a code to put in.I was on the phone for 11/2 hours and then was told to talk with another man on the chat thing while he "fixed my computer.I started to get a sick feeling in my stomach that I was being scammed but I was afraid by now to refuse as they had control. The only thing I could do now was call my credit card and change the card # so that they couldn't take any more than what they had. My granddaughter came by and was shocked by what happened, but it was too late to do anything about it.Why does AVG have this? They are supposed to be a reputable company???

samething happen to me, i call a tel number thinking im calling the norton support line, but the guy was from guruaid and he's in india, he acted like he was a norton representative, after spending an hour with him and him trying to sell me craps and ask so many personnal questions that i did not feel confortable to answer, i realise he's not from norton. I made a complain  and let norton know that guruaid people are passing themselves as norton representatives. checking online you will so many complains about guruaid people passing as Microsoft, or macafee or norton representative etc..... i dont undestand why no one is doing anything about this company. the fbi or bbb should investigate them, they access ur computer and who know is they are stealing your information or not .
by thw way this have nothing to do with avg, guruaid people sre to be blame , this company needs to be shut down

You are a Guru Aid scammer. You should be ashamed of what you do to innocent people. I had your service for a year and did not renew because your company always made my computer worse than when I first called. Your company is awful I hope you go out of business.

Guruaid took $171.59 from me and returned $164.32 That's $7.27 stolen from me by Guruaid. When I complain, they say its my fault. They reluctantly returned part of my money because I was going to sue them in the World Court. I have recently won a judgment on a former landlord. Should I go to court for the $7.27? Maybe I should because bad publicity only hurts them more. Beware of Guruaid...they might take the cavities out of your mouth. Never trust a Guruaid anything!

You might be either from Australia or Canada, This company is based in US and deal in US $s.
So according to the conversion rate the day you got charged was different than the day you got a refund.
What would a global company do with $7.27.
You might be thinking Im a employee of the company but Im not, Im their customer and using their services for past three years happily.

I called AVG and GuruAid somehow got on my computer. I thought I was speaking to an AVG Tech. They talked to me for about an hour or more. Then the person speaking to me said he would put his supervisor on the line and talk to me. My computer was sending error reports from time to time and I needed information how to stop this and fix it. They said for $399.00 they could fix my computer and the contract would be for three years. I could contact them as many times as I needed during this time period period. I have not contacted them since two months ago, but my computer is doing the same thing. Now I am very concerned that I have been scammed. I hope not! I paid the $399.00. I feel foolish!

You might have gotten good service from them but I was duped into letting them take over my computer.  I was having trouble loading pages with Firefox so I opened Internet Explorer and googled "firefox help."  I selected the first choice and was directed to them.  I stupidly did not look at the URL. I thought I was chatting with Mozilla.
These guys promised to fix my problem. I was told it looked like I had some sort of virus then they scanned my registry and tried to sell me a registry fix product.  WTF?  Total misleading [***].
    Just beware.
