I was duped into paying for a service that was not preformed on my computer.  I asked for three programs to be removed and Adobe Flash properly installed on my computer.  In fact I thought  I had or was in contact with the Adobe company.   I am in desperate need of  a refund of my money.   My  computer is not working properly and I am out $255.++.

I like Doreen have had great service from Guru. I can call 24hrs a day. You have to be patient and explain in detail, if you need a higher level tech support to resolve they can do, some of there top level people are outstanding. They have been very courteous and tried to awnser all my questions. To date I have been very satisfied. Their job depends on resolving your problem. Computers are very complicated, I have learned to be patient. I have also learned to deal with the language barrier.

Guruaid has a complicated way of ripping you off. Firstly, they commendeer your computer then they destroy it so you will have to replace everything costing about 300% of the original purchase price. Then they transfer monies around so they can get a larger profit by saying its the exchange rates. so your credit card bill will be as much as $8 more than you expect. Talk about scammers, liers and cheats. tthey will call you 24/7 just to avoid paying a proper refund. Sure I got my money back (minus $8 Guruaid service fee they call exchange fees) but my computer cost 300% more to fix above guruaid's fee and extra money exchange fees.
The next they may require is your actual blood: "give us 30 quarts now or well destroy your computer life". Guruaid is a caveman slavery group. BEWARE they are out to get you even in your home. Now is my computer safe or can they now enter my personal life causing havoc. Mistrust anyone with a south Asian accent as they will take your ditgital soul forever. There is no way to be free...you are always a slave to Guruaid. Frankie

I got on to these guys when I called Norton about some problems over a year ago.  They sold me a 2 year package which I assumed was sanctioned by Norton.  How does this sort of thing happen.  Last time I tried calling them I got a recording that the number was disconnected.  Screwed again..........

Guru aid is a total scam! They took over my PC and would not give it back when I started asking questions. I had to switch off my router to regain control and stop whatever they were downloading from my PC. Avoid at all cost!

It's true! They are a huge scam! All they did was download AVG and run a virus scan that I could have done myself. However, that wasn't even the problem with my computer. My hard drive was failing but they never even tested to see if my hard drive was working. They spent over 3 weeks working on my computer and even made me reinstall my whole operating system and all my files and that, of course, didn't work because the problem was my hard drive all along. Plus, they made me stay on the phone with them for so long before an actual technician ever started working on my computer and our internet connection would disconnect constantly. Then I would have to call back the toll free number, explain my whole problem over again to another stranger, get transferred to an completely different technician who had no idea what my issue was and had to start over from the beginning. I ended up having to sit in front of my computer for over 8 hours one day with them and if, God Forbid, I walked away touse the bathroom and I didn't respond to one of their questions, they would log off and ignore me and I would have to call back and go through the ringer all over again. Plus, they would constantly ask me permission to do things on my computer. For example, they would say " can i remove a virus from this location?". Um, yes, you morons, that is why you are working on my computer and I know nothing about computers so why are you asking me? How would I know?  After 3 weeks of hell with Guruaid and $170, I finally had to go to a local technician and pay them $130 plus $100 for a new hard drive to fix my computer. I did end up getting a partial refund from Guruaid and am now waiting for a full refund from Guruaid because they never did a single thing they were supposed to do to fix my computer. Yes, they worked on my computer for a VERY long time, but never did anything that effected any change except give me a headache. I had to fight with them on the phone about 4 different occasions before they would even agree to givce me the refund. I will update you and let you know if I get my full refund in the next 3-5 business days as they said they would do. If not, this is going straight to my lawyer. What a disaster!

I thought I was ringing a legit Kaspersky Help & Support number, maybe with Guruaid working as an official subcontractor of Kaspersky.
Man with an Indian accent initially started discussing the issue I had with my Kaspersky licenses.  He persuaded me to let him access my computer, claiming it was necessary to help solve my Kaspersky issue.

Then he raised what he claimed were a whole lot of other issues my computer had.  I asked him if he worked for another company or for Kaspersky.  He said he worked for Kaspersky.
He then tried to sell me a package of computer maintenance.
I became suspicious then and asked him to get off my computer which he promptly did.
He had installed what looked like an antivirus program, which when I found, I removed immediately.

Basically they try to get you to think they have some official function for a reputable company and then try to convince you that there is something seriously wrong with your computer and you should hire them to maintain your computer.

Like the rest i went onto Google and didnt look at the URL.  Straight away the hard sell went into action ranging from 120 US Dollars to 399 US Dollars.  Once they take control of your computer you have lost as if you are not PC literate/clever then they can do what ever they like.  I am down £79.00 but hope i have stopped the bank transaction in time.  They are not in my opinion affiliated to Microsoft, AVG, Norton or any of the big names.  As clearly stated the use the names as a reference.  This gives people the wrong impression and the should be stopped from trading.  I went from 8 viruses to 9710 problems with my computer?
It may even be that they leave something on your computer to interupt when your spyware licence lapses?
