I was duped into paying for a service that was not preformed on my computer.  I asked for three programs to be removed and Adobe Flash properly installed on my computer.  In fact I thought  I had or was in contact with the Adobe company.   I am in desperate need of  a refund of my money.   My  computer is not working properly and I am out $255.++.

Are you saying you got 4 months of your money back? If so, I would like to know how. I have been with them for just a month and they seem to do more harm than help.

I am reading all these complaints and am confused!  I have a 3 year plan with Guruaid and have received excellent service every time I run into a problem.  I have found them very courteous and willing to answer all my questions.  I had trouble trying to upgrade the map information on my GPS and I called them and in no time, they upgraded the GPS on my behalf.   I think that a lot of these complaints are by people who want to stop the service from Guruaid.  I am very pleased to be a customer of Guraid!  I usually take my laptop to be serviced yearly to get rid of the junk I have collected and to me the price is quite reasonable for all the service I get.

I'm trying them for a year. Satya is finishing up. Removed 1833 MB of useless files. Removed all traces of sir_efef trojan virus.  What I'm sayin is I'm giving em a chance. It's a much needed service. Year contract...24/7 anything computer related. Very satisfied so far. Wonder why all the negative comments. Can't expect to plop money down and they do it all. I worked with them and not only had issues fixed, but I learned a lot. Asked many questions and they were willing to explain. My 2 cts.

Doreen, I agree.  I was on the phone wth them all day and they fixed all our problems.  System is running faster and cleaner so I signed up a 2nd computer.  I actually connected with them through McAfee which makes me a little weary that they are  running a used car lot behind the Mercedes storefront...so to speak.  Doesn't mean the used cars are stolen or tripped with a bomb...  just sayin'

You know nothing. "making fake statement"?  That's making false statements, or making a fake statement. I live in OH, am a white male, [you bigot] yes, you have to work now and find a dictionary.
I'm fully retired and don"t need a job. And if I knew what they learned I wouldn't have to pay them to help me out..which they did. Sit back and enjoy your neurosis by yourself. That should keep you busy for awhile. Over and Ouuuuuuuttt!

Guru Aid is the biggest friggin' scam out there. Ken says he can validate my Windows 7 Home premium for a mere $399.00 for a 3 year maintenance plan. Microsoft fixed it in less than 5 minutes. I need to contact the Attorney Generals Office on this one.

i must have been the biggest fool ever. in nov 2011 i had pc problems. i contacted guru and they took over my pc claiming i had over one thousand viruses. they had control of my pc for hours. yes, my pc was running real slow and freezing. i paid them 160.00 for a year of service. my pc did run much better and faster once they completed. but for the last week or so my pc has been doing the same thing. well, dummy me receives a phone call from someone saying they were alerted by windows my pc was infected. this person told me all the things my pc was doing. so he transfers me to a tech. they asked to sit in front of my pc and go here and there sure enough i could see errors and reds dots indicating infections. i am not too good with these things. i forgot i had paid guru in nov 2011 with a yr warranty. these people are all from india. hmmmm well, yep i paid 60.00 to get my pc running again. are all of you telling me i was scammed? well, who can i trust because before that i paid a local company. i did notice they installed AVG protection. well, help me am a fool again? i am going to contact guru to see if they will refund my money. i doubt it we will see. HELP. i now own a mac as well hope it is better.

Keath Woods must be one of the Guruaid people!  Ijust got off an internet d remote access of my computer and told me my computer had tons of viruses and that it would be $299 for 2 years to remove.  I started scanning my computer and norton didn't find any viruses. When he saw me doing this, the internet chat mysteriously ended. I clicked off of them ASAP before they sent some mess to my computer! I asked them where the were located and he said in Conneticut.  I can hardly understand anyone I talk to because they're all Indian with heavy accents.

I recently renewed my subscription to Norton, but keep getting messages saying it's about to run out, so I googled "contacting Norton" and got these people. The man I spoke to, called Andy (I've forgotten his surname, but it was something English) who was obviously Indian, asked if he could take remote control of my computer, and foolishly I let him. When he started trying to sell me something it began to sound familiar, so I switched off at the socket and put the phone down. I'm worried now that he may have planted something, and I can't get the Norton Power Eraser to work.

Today I had the worst experience with Guruaid. I originally have Norton, but when I bought my laptop the Best Buy employee told me about Kaspersky. So I decided to switch to Kaspersky anyways I had a problem downloading the system. So I google kaspersky customer service phone # and guruaid came up. Stupid me I called them and should of know when someone right away picked up that's its bull. Emmanulle with an heavy Indian accent screen shared with me and told me I have all these issues with a new laptop! I became suspicious when he told me they don't work directly with Kaspersky but as a 3rd party! I asked him if this is free of charge and he started mumbling saying they will fix my problem for $99.95! I said absolutely not and hung up, right away I shut the screen sharing and shut down my comp! Not only is Kaspersky terrible, I'm still trying to unistall kaspersky! I"m worried that the whole guruaid was a scam and I hope they didn't infect my computer or did more damage. Watch out people, call only the original companies numbers!

The same thing happened to me.
Currys installed Kaspersky for me when I purchased my laptop from them last year.

my kaspersky Internet security expired and I kept getting pop up reminders to renew.

I tried to renew without success so Googled them to get a phone number for support.

There was a free 0800 number to ring and the man said his name was Alan.  He had an English accent and when I told him that I wanted to renew my contract with kaspersky for the fee of £20.00 he was ever so helpful.

He told me that I would be better of installing Micro Essential which would be for ever with no yearly contract to renew and it was free.

I asked if he was from Kaspersky and he told me that he was from a company called Guruaid and that their service was absolutely free.

He asked my permission to go into my computer because he was going to remove all these errors which he had found.

I kept asking him if this was going to cost me anything and he repeatedly told me that the servise was free.

After being on the phone with me for over one hour, he said he was going to pass me over to a techni
tion who was going to remove all these problems and at the very last minute said it would only cost me £399 for a 3 year contract,  I was very angry and felt tricked by this individual.  He knew I was a vunerable pensioner who wasn't computer wise ( because I told him that when we first spoke ).

I told him that I was a poor pensioner living on a state pension and that I couldnt afford this kind of money and he had lied to me all through.

I asked to speak to his supervisor or management and I was put through to a My Rocky Jones.  Another Indian with a phoney English name.  I complained to him that I had been tricked into thinking I was calling Kaspersky and the phone went dead,

I now fear that they have done something to my computer because they knew I had no protection.

They need to be reported to some legal body to stop them from kidding people and sneaking into peoples computers on false protences.  BEWARE!
