I was duped into paying for a service that was not preformed on my computer.  I asked for three programs to be removed and Adobe Flash properly installed on my computer.  In fact I thought  I had or was in contact with the Adobe company.   I am in desperate need of  a refund of my money.   My  computer is not working properly and I am out $255.++.

Kept me on the phone a half hour under the false pretense that they were the customer service for AVG for which I have a paid license.  I got suspicious when they tried selling me tech services and demanded to know how much I paid for my outside IT help.  Google should not put them at the top of the search results.  I'm not happy with them either.

DO NOT CALL GURUAID! SCAM FRAUD CRIME CRIMINAL PHISHING RIPOFF

This gruaid is bloody [***]. They need locking up scamming [***]. You can that positive comments are from employees of this stupid company because some of the wording is incorrect and their grammar is awful. They tried scamming me £259GBP for a three year contract to look after my computer you must be joking. As soon as big figures of money are mentioned and they force you to pay, you immediately know something is not right here.

These people are the worst kind to do business with. They are more than scam artists. They are dangerous. After spending 2 days, 10 hrs and $100 all I have to show for it is a headache , wasted time and a fear that they may still be able to access my system. All this just because I couldn't install a printer WTF!!!  After day 2 I VERY politely declined anymore help. Said good night and was about to log off when they start the whole song and dance about the "criticality" of my issues with my system and went on to say "we are taking care of it, leave your comp on go ahead and go to bed". I told them No and that I didn't want them to cont to access my system. Our business was done. He scripted the same things over and over/ Frustrated , I went ahead and tried to  log off the chat line w him, this [***] takes over my mouse and starts moving me away from the close button. I finally was able to move faster than them and got the window closed> When the window popped up to confirm i wanted to close the session he beat me to the box and selected no.... Now heres the scarey part. Now that they know I'm not giving them not even one more minute he procceded to start trying to erase key programs in my system in a mad scramble. it was literally a fight over the mouse as i tried to stop him from destroying my system. Funny how fast they worked to ruin it but so slow when trying to "fix'. i tried shutting the system down manually and he beat me to the force down button everytime. I will be filing a law suit against this company. Stay AWAY!!!

I recently took a service from guruaid. These guys are good, they fixed my computer problem with ease. I guess looking at all the comments till now, i partly agree that they need to improve on their expertise as at times it takes hours on the chat / phone to get the issue fixed. Considering that fact that someone can give me computer support a little lower than 0.50 per day for a year is worth it!

These people are just like the scammers who fool old people into giving them their bank information.  Now that those people are dying off, the new old people are those who don't know what a browser is and don't understand that just because you put a company name into a search bar doesn't mean the phone number you find is not for that company.

They prey on the poorly-informed and the generations that grew up without computers.  They are swine and should be roasted on a spit.

This is what unrestrained capitalism looks like. Take note, American Republicans.

I just used them today. I have no complaints. My computer was running very slow, I had been keeping up with the required maintenance tasks, but it was still slow. They logged on and removed over 1500 MB of stuff I didn't even know I had. My computer has never run better. I'm willing to give them the 3 years, if they don't do their jobs I won't renew with them.

Back in May, I also called Guruaid by accident thinking I had Kaspersky.  Most helplines seem to be somewhere in India so I wasn't immediately suspicious.  The guy that answered also spoke so fast that I didn't hear the Guruaid.  I said, did you say Kaspersky, he said yes.  I let him comandeer my computer.  After asking me if I used the computer for banking and shopping a couple of times, I got suspicious.  I kept telling him no, it was a backup computer.  He copied what he did.  He showed me errors and tried to scare me.  I was scared.  Finally, he told me the computer was not going to be fixable and wanted me to turn on my laptop.  I finally woke up and got smart.  I said no, and that I wasn't comfortable.  Thank god!!  I felt pretty freaked out though, wondering what I'd allowed him to access.  I immediately changed a few passwords and bank info.  These people are preying on people like me.  People, don't make the same mistake as I did.  Luckily, I don't use that computer.

I've just been scammed by Guru Aid. Yesterday I started having computer problems after upgrading to AVG 2013. I thought I was contacting AVG about the problem, but it turned out to be Guru Aid. They took control of my computer, sold me a 2 year contract. They even lied to me when I asked if I could get 1 year. They told me no, but later I saw on their site that they have a 1 year contract. Minutes after they "fixed" my computer, I started having issues again, some new ones in addition to the original problems. I called their support, and  waited on the line for about an hour, then hung up so I could call back to use the other options. One option was to leave my phone number and someone would contact me. I'm still waiting for that call. Then I tried their online chat. '"Michele" told me to use the phone support. I told her I tried. So she said ok, and asked what the problem was. Before I could even explain in detail, she told me they didn't handle the problems I was having.  After I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said ok, and then never responded again. I terminated the chat about 25 minutes later. Today I called my credit card company to put a hold on that charge, then I paid a professional (AVG tech) to actually fix the problems. I was told my computer had a particularly nasty virus on it. I suspect Guru Aid infected my computer.

I have been in law enforcement for many years.  Although I have no proof, I sincerely suspect guruaid to be utilizing their complicated technique to induce people to purchase their service.  In my case, one morning I went to my desk and my computer had a panel from AVG asking me to take a program from them.  I already had a program from them and declined ... however, I was unable to take the advertisement off the screen.  I got the telephone numbler of AVG to ask them to remove the advertisiment.  I got the numlber through Google.  I later found out that the telephone number I called, expecting it to be AVG was not AVG but directly to guruaid who stated they were not affilliated with AVG in anly way.  By the way of their answering a telephone number assigned to another company that they denied any connection with, l sincerely believe they are committing a fraud.  As I have already said, I have no direct proof of their operation but have obviously will not do business with them.
