I purchased a sofa and chair from a furniture store about 18 months ago. I chose the England brand furniture because I was told about their exceptional quality. Unfortunately, the fabric and cushions are wearing pre-maturely. The fabric is tearing and the cushions are loosing their shape. England refuses to acknowledge the tearing because the 1 year warranty has expired. They are looking into the cushion problem. I never had this problem with any other brand of living room furniture I purchased over the last 35 years.

Purchased a set in 2009. Noticed that one of the cushions had separated from the back because the thread had rotted. The store I purchased from is gone, so I contacted HQ. They can't even refer me to someone to fix at my own expense.

Glad I decided to do some reserch on England Furniture. Just last Fri. we took a ride to a town 100 mi. from where we live (Its is a very popular place with a lot to do and good food) while there we went into a furniture store that we have delt with before and a living room set just hit me. We were told it was England and USA made so that settled it. We planned on going back this week to make the purchase but will be thinking twice about it now. Then to have it delivered it would have cost almost $400. because it is a 200 mile round trip.

I too purchased a sofa, chair and ottaman from Big Sandy Furniture in Charleston, WV.  The sofa has been the worst sofa I have ever owned!  WE have had the cushions replaced going on the fifth time.  Big Sandy Furniture is working with the manufacturer to get more new cushions and fabric.  The issue I'm having is the cushions are not going back far enough to be held in place.  When I sit down the cushions slide forward and you find yourself setting on the back of the cushion and can feel there are no springs in that part of the cushion.  The design of the sofa is that the cushions are not held in place on the seat of the sofa by the back of the sofa...... they move around, slide forward and are the most uncomfortable seating I've ever had.
My recliner is also hard to close.....it is very hard to close!

I would never buy a England product again, I was told they were owned by Lazy boy and come with a ten year warranty. What a joke that was, I have had my cushion replaced with cores three times. They keep deforming after a couple weeks of use. They now tell me they might send it back to the factory to have the sofa checked. I was also told I will be without a sofa for six weeks. The problem is with the back of the sofa, the cushions keep going into the cracks and deforming them. I also put a full size quilt in the crack to try to fix it and had no LUCK. Beware of England

I have also had nothing but problems with the England Furniture CUSHIONS.  They were replaced and the same problem.......T-CUSHIONS - TWO PIECES OF FOAM - ONE PIECE FOR THE BASE CUSHION AND A GLUED ON SEPARATE SMALL PIECE FOR THE T.  Every time you sit on the chair the glued on piece folds in.  I am so sorry I bought this set because it looks awful.  The only answer is for me to buy a new, one piece of foam for each cushion.  PLEASE DON'T BUY ENGLAND FURNITURE.

We purchased a England sofa and 2 chairs in 2005. We have lived on this furniture with 3 dogs and it still looks great! We went with a sage green chenille fabric. I do vacuum it weekly. My son is moving into his first apartment and it will be passed onto him. We plan on buying England again! When we orderedd the sofa we purchased the firm cushions and they have done wonderful.

I bought a sofa bed and over sized chair, the cushions within 3 years have all list shape and are flat and very uncomfotable, the couch has 3 cushions in which since purchase I have rotated and flipped every other month, I live alone and only weigh 130lbs, I don't understand, paying for quality and recieveing nothing but that. Being totally disabled, it was hard enough to scrape the bottom of the budget for as I thought quality and got CRAP as far as the foam goes. How a.d who can I contact for help. The smashed foam is causing extreme pain for me to even sit for more than a half hour at a time. And due to a recent total reconstructive neck surgery I'm at my wits. End having to go rest at a neighbors home to watch television and relax.   Please I NEED HELP. THANK YOU BARBARA DIMOCK. IF someone really knows how to help my # is 732-581-8500.

So sorry for you Barbara, I do feel for you! I have pain so bad in my hips, lower back and neck from sitting in the love seat or the sofa I can't sleep at night. We just bought our furniture a year ago and the stuff is collapsing all over, the arms, the cushions, the back. When you sit down in it you feel like you are almost on the floor. It seems the floor might be a more comfortable place to sit! They do have a ten year warranty on the cushions. Contact the company. According to other posts there is a man named Philip Arnold at England and he said to contact him and tell them what is going on. He left his contact info as philip.arnold@englandfurniture.com   He promises to help! Take him up on his word and see if he makes good on it. Also I would have the place you purchased it from send for new cushions, and if neither come through....I would call the BBB. So sad to have to resort to that.

I am looking at England furniture now.  I have read all the complaints and not sure what I will do in the end.  I wish that the when mentioning the problems, that which fabric they are talking would be mentioned.  England carries many different fabrics as well as style of furniture.  So lets help each other and state exactly what piece of furniture you bought and what fabric you have choosen, and what kind of cushion is on the furniture.

I was so excited to find the England beautiful designed American made furniture line. I'm an advocate of trying to re-establishing American industries. I just recieved my two chairs and ottoman.  The first time we sat in the chairs the padding on the arms sank in and did not pop back so now our (week old) new chairs have lumpy arms.  I can only imagine what they will look like in a year.
Whom ever is making decisions on the quality of your product does not believe in American made product reputation and that is what has destroyed many American Companies.   You can under price your competion by using cheap foundations but you are losing return customers.  You have beautiful designs, a great selection, and the American made label,  but terrible padding and foundations.
If you sold your furniture at a higher price in order to have a better padding and foundation you would have many return customers because of the other things you have going for you.  I will not be a returning customer.  I'm depressed over wasting my money on England furniture, but what really makes me sad is that you give American made products a bad name. Shame on you!

I bought a new England sofa special made with a select fabric in Feb 2013 and sunk down immediately, called and after several months of waiting England sent wrong size foam for the sofa, might have been the store, not sure. After reading these reviews will never buy this brand again. I will ask them to take it back so I can buy a different one from them. If not there are good furniture consignment stores to contact.
Never buy from Sofas Unlimited. Smooth talkers but takes forever for any results to fix and repair.

THANK YOU ALL! We went and looked at an England. The store sales female representative told us they have been carrying the line for twelve years and have had no complaint! Either she was lying or ignorant. We looked at the England because it was a "bit- ahem " less than the Lattitudes collection by Flexsteel. I guess I will not be buying the England brand after reading all these complaints, Thank you again :0)

WOW - I am stunned at these comments. We purchased an England furniture sofa and glider loveseat about 6 years ago when England had a store here in Austin, TX.  We selected the fabric, and chose the firmest cushions. It was the "Nancy" line. They have absolutely been wonderful. NO PROBLEM with the fabric. Nothing coming apart. The firmness is still just like the day we got them and anyone who comes to our home comments on how comfortable they are and absolutely has a fit over the glider loveseat. Maybe the quality has gone down, but they have been around in Tennessee for over 50 years and are American made. I have LOVED my furniture!

Bought  furniture from Art Van Was made by Englander U.S. made what a shame. You can not sit on it without it falling back into it. Material moves around the seams never line up. I have called both company's, today Art Van said its suppose to have that relaxed look. I will never buy from Art Van again or Englander made furniture again.

I'm not sure if this is the same company....I was looking for New Englander Corsair Furniture.  Im looking to get a new couch and loveseat.  The set I have now is 21 yrs old and the foam cushions still are not broken down and the frame is still in good shape.  I just want a change, but after reading these reviews I wonder if its changed owners?  Because quality control used to be great.
