They call me at all hours of the day. I am on a maternity leave and they have been calling my office every day. They accuse my coworkers in lying and covering for me because they say that I am on leave.  I tried to talk to them but they are threatening me with police and say  they will take my vehicle.

    I am at the end of my loan with CPS i have like less than $1200.00 left on my loan. They call and harass everyday, when are you making your payment? Why can't you make it today? Why can't you borrow it? Arguing, about when it is due. I am so sick of them. The most degrading thing is when they change their voice and attempt to be other people on the phone, when u just heard their voice earlier how dumb is that.Today i filed a complaint with the attorney General and they already have over 100 complaints. I am in columbus, ohio. Please send info about the lawsuit to sljean38@gmail. Thanks.

    CPS CALLED MY FRIENDS WHICH ARE THE PEOPLE I GAVE A REFERENCES AND TALKED ABOUT MY BUSINESS!!!! WHAT KIND OF PRACTICE IS THIS??

    These are the most obnoxious people I’ve ever dealt with in my life especially the VA location. Granted I’ve been late a couple of times due to being laid off from my job, I’ve always brought the payments back to current. However they will call you from sun up to sun down with their rude threatening remarks. What I’ve come to learn is they don’t like it when you give them a taste of their own medicine with your comments back to them. I’ve spoken to the managers and they are not any help. I’m sure I’ve paid for this car at least twice, but don’t want to lose the money that’s invested in it. Will be so happy when I can finally pay them off!! Please provide me with more information on the lawsuit.

    WHY DONT YOU IDIOTS PAY YOUR BILLS. MORE OR LESS YOUR CAR PAYMENTS. THEN NO ONE WOULD BE HARASSING YOU. YOU ALL DESERVE THE HARRASMENT YOU GET FROM THEM AND THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR BUYING SOMETHING YOU CANT AFFORD. I WISH I COULD GO SHOPPING IN YOUR HOUSE AND "BUY YOUR TV" ON CREDIT THEN NEVER PAY YOU FOR IT. YOU WOULD BE MAD AS WELL. GET A LIFE PEOPLE AND BECOME REPOSNIBLE

    To bad life isn't that easy.  Do you really think anyone buys things with the intensions of getting behind on thier payments?  I certainly did not see into the future and did not know that my husband would end up unemployed.  Open your eyes and see the world as it really is.

    Hey if your researching this company because the car dealership says they can finance you. Just do it. Its high interest yes. But if you need a car, make sure the payment is AFFORDABLE. Our payment is $240 a month. The dealership kept trying to upsell us but we refused and found a car on their lot that is everything we needed, not wanted. Low payment, seats 5 and reliable. Make the payment on time and they won't bother you. You can also make a payment online so I don't know why people mail in checks anymore. Thats where a lot of the problem is. This is a good solid company that gives people a second chance... the people complaining are the ones that are in financial trouble. If you have a fixed income and have an affordable payment, there won't be any problems.

    Fireside sold my acct for my Ford Explorer to CPS.  Why did this happen?  My brother got a call from a rep named Abel from CPS trying to collect on my car loan

    Yes, I agree. The Fair Dect Colection Practice Act prohibits them from disclosing ANYTHING about your debt to a third party but they called my brother and told him that they were a car payment agency trying to collect from us. When I called the "collector" back he said he didn't say that. He was lying. Also, according to our contract, they can only charge us 5% of the payment for a late fee which equals $16, but they charge us $55-$75. When the payment is made, which includes their late fee of $50-$75 dollars, they put the "late fee" on principal, then tack more late fees on. These guys are what class action suits are made of! They also changed our payment date, with no notice, from the 16th of the month to the 4th, then charged me $55 late fee. What is wrong with this picture?

    I have never complained about a company in writing before but these people are way out of line. I have always paid my bills but sometimes due to things called "life" its not always on time although within 30 days. These people call all day, everyday and leave messages stating that it is "urgent". I was 20 days late and called and spoke to them to make payment arrangments. The lady I spoke to worked a deal with me that I was able to commit to. She even offered to allow me to skip a payment and move my loan maturity a month and I turned it down telling her that I wanted to stay with my original terms and make my payments as promised. She then put me through to a person to finalize our agreement, I thought. A [***] manager (So he says) gets on the phone and tells me that I need to make a payment right now and then he will arrange for the next one. I advised him of the agreement that I just spoke to the lady about and I couldn't make a payment for three more days and he said, "Well she told you she needed to clear it with a manager right"? Uh no she didn't smart guy! The manager tells me he will not accept any payments or arrangments until I pay today and thats it. He said I don't care how you get the money but you better get it, borrow it from family or a friend, I dont care just get it. I started to get in a heated argument with MR manager and realized he's an idoit and I have all the power. I offered to secure CPS two payments with post dated checks and the only thing he was interested in was getting a payment now. He told me several times, "You do what you have to do, and we'll do what we have to do", A lame attempt to threaten me with an open ended scare tactic. What are they gonna do, tow my truck for being 20 days late? Not. Well Mr manager, he didn't secure two payments and didn't even get the payment he was after becauce of his attitude. By the way I was only asking them to wait three more days making it 23 days late. The only thing this manager got was a dial tone in his ear after I did what I had to do, and just hung up! Then the lady I made the deal with calls me back  with an attitude and leaves a rude message stating that I failed to complete my payment arrangment that I made with her and she was going to seek further action. What the.... Do these people talk to eachother or just lie and deceive to get what they want? I think we all know the answer to this. This company would have a better reputation if they would actually listen to the complaints and follow up on them and do a little quality control with their employees that are responsible for customer services and securing payments. They have a lot of people like Mr manager working for them that are doing a lot more harm than being a valuable asset.

    I have a loan with them and I have been late, they somehow call  people I know, threatened the operator at my job and when I made a partial payment they told me nice try get your debit card and make your payment.  I have tried to call a supervisor or manager  and keep getting the same rude people.  I did a search and found the name of their CEO and an address to write to the board of directors.  I wonder if they know what is going on with their call centers and collection departments.  Here is the information for any one who wants to write to the CEO and board of directors maybe they will make changes.

    After deferring a payment (modifying your loan)  why aren't accumulated late fees resolved?

    Had a stroke, recovered, I just recently fell behind 2 month after 5 years with this company and wanted to know if late fees are still collectable?

    What they did was extended my loan an additional 2 months so that I could catch up.

    i have CPS as my finance company! most of what ppl commenting are correct. i was paying this company on time each & every month, until the state furloughed me for 3 days a week for 2 years. this posed a big problem on paying my bills. i was late a payment and have not been able to catch up since the inception of the 3 day furloughs but i send them a payment each month, although 30 days late!! after my bank sends them a payment, here they call my work the day after asking for my next payment! i understand i took out a loan and they need payments. i'm just trying to get caught up but calling me EVERYDAY until the end of the month for my next payment is absolutely ridiculous! we all go through some financial strain in life, but to call everyday? i'm not running from my payments, but if they would be a bit courteous when they call and limit to 1 call per week, then i would be all good! for those people who are totally pissed at this company, you should take full responsibility as well and take care of your obligations!!! i heard people who are financed through CPS are people who say they will make a payment and end up NOT paying CPS, so i understand the frustration on CPS' part. make your payments, but i doubt CPS will stop calling erractically!!! have a nice day :)

    Please report this company to the Better Business Bureau - they have violated the rights of too many hardworking people.  No one should be subjected to the harassment that this company allows their workers to do.  Inundate the companies CEO (Charles E. Bradley Jr's.) secretary 949-753-6800
    with phone calls and letters.  Start somewhere!  You do not have to be abused!

What I would suggests, anyone who is being contacted by this company, via telephone messages and/or voice mail messages, please record them, if possible.. submit a certified letter requesting a "DO NOT CALL" list of names and numbers. If they do not adhere to your letter and continue to contact you through your neighbors, family, employer and friends; I strongly suggests you contact an Attorney (PRO-BONO) and start pursuing this company legally.  They have violated COLLECTION LAWS in so many ways, this company should be sued. Please do not allow this company to intimidate, harass or violate your rights. We have LAWS in this country that MUST be FOLLOWED. Your financial situation, does not give anyone/company a right to BREAK the LAW!

What I would suggests, anyone who is being contacted by this company, via telephone messages and/or voice mail messages, please record them, if possible.. submit a certified letter requesting a "DO NOT CALL" list of names and numbers. If they do not adhere to your letter and continue to contact you through your neighbors, family, employer and friends; I strongly suggests you contact an Attorney (PRO-BONO) and start pursuing this company legally.  They have violated COLLECTION LAWS in so many ways, this company should be sued. Please do not allow this company to intimidate, harass or violate your rights. We have LAWS in this country that MUST be FOLLOWED. Your financial situation, does not give anyone/company a right to BREAK the LAW!

    i financed my car w/them in 2007 and my last payment was due 3/1/2012. i paid them $300 on 3/20/12 and owed only $118 after that. i got a call today 4/12/12 rudely letting me know my loan is past due and i have to wire in the payment (last payment cant be electronic which is how i usually made my payments; last payment had to be wired or mailed in) i told the lady on the phone bc they dont allow elec payments for the last payment i havent made it to bank to get money order or post office to send payment. told her ive paid over $10,000 the past 4yrs not gonna skip out on $118. she said i have to wire the payment and asked for the wiring instructions she didnt give them to me! i asked to talk to someone else and in the background i heard her laughing to someone else. @ that point i was yelling to her demanding to give me wiring instructions for my last payment she wouldnt say anything. then i said fine come find the car then...and she replies to whoever in the background "she just threatened to hide the car we gotta go get it tonight" she wouldnt come back on the phone so i hung up and called back. could hear a voice in background again when whoever picked up but wouldnt say anything; i hung up again and called back; by then they had closed....SERIOUSLY?!  how bout i sue you for not giving me payoff info if you come reposess my car for being 41 days past due on my LAST payment. theyre not supposed to start repo process until loan is 3mos past due...lol. good riddance when i wire my payment tomorrow! [***]!!!!!
