I received a call by a man calling himself Jack Zachwalker. He said if I had a valid credit card w/ at least a dollar on it he could guarantee me a $200 gas card.  I would have to pay a fee of $3.90 to get the gas card. He called repeatedly.  Now the calls have stopped.

Just got the same scam by an American Auto Benefits Co. Saying they are over 7 years old company. the number on the ID was 978-570-2210. I would not give him the credit card number so he tried to convince me to give my expiration date and route number to assure that I could call my bank and allow the small charge of 3.90 for shipping to go through. Googled the name of the co. and it came back as could not find! Be careful people!!!!!

Hi, I got call today Sept 2, 2010 from a guy with obvious Indian accent, from 'American Auto Benefits' offering a $200 gas card that I had won. He asked for $1.99 for shipping charges to send the card to my house.

What really CONCERNED me was that he insisted I paid through my regular CREDIT CARD and not a prepaid or gift card. I had a prepaid & a gift card with a balance of $2.00 which I wanted to use. When I refused he was rude and said he had my regular Visa credit card information already with him since I used it at a gas station. That freaked me out and I hung up. Definitely a CHEAT.

I just had them on the phone for 40 mins  of the most fun I have had in a long time. They lost it and started swearing at me. I was playing along... and insisting that I am willing to give them my card number so long I can establish a sense of trust. Now here is the fun part: I am Indian... and they (they kept transferring me up to the next manager) all have Indian accent. But when I ask them for their names I got: Eric Thomson, Perter More, Bill Davidson. LMAO... and by the way, they are supposed to be in Az and none of them know the capital, Jan Brewer, or what SB1070 were.  PS: put them on speaker... and have fun with them... that is what they get for trying to steal.

I gave them some tips... like at least choosing Indian names.

I wish I had seen this website before I received a call from this company (American Auto Benefit.)  I did the same thing by given out my credit card number over the telephone; hoping for that $200 gas card vouchers.  They were really persisting and I failed for it.  As soon as I pulled up this website and read the comments, I immediately contact my credit card company and canceled my card.  This just happened about an hour ago, thank God for this website!!!

I didnt understand so before doing anything i told her to call back tommorrow (i wanted to research the info. first) And this is what i found :) so tommorrow i'll settle it straight with a big fat NO.

i got an offer from the same so called "american auto benefits" and im so glad that i read all of these comments before falling prey to these thieves. some indian guy named Sam Neuro (lol) told me that i can get a $200 gas card and a $20 walmart card for just a 1 dollar fee for both and they wouldnt ask to charge me AFTER i got the gas card. unfortunately i thought i'd give it a shot because i hadn't checked this page up until today. i took all of my money off my of my debit card and canceled it for another card before they could take anything. i checked my transation history and nothin was taken at the time so i had to hurry up and take action before anything happened. i feel so stupid after reading everyones comments.

even tho my money wasnt taken, i am convinced that these ppl are scammers, especially after lookin at that website. it looks so bootleg. when i called back to cancel my card, they immediately asked for my card number and not my name. what kinda mess is that with them supposedly being an insurance company? and when u call them, anybody notice that it never goes to an auto message? everything about them is suspect. i felt like such an idiot afterward but i am one of the lucky ones who didnt have any money stolen from me. trust no one guys. i know i never will

I cannot believe I fell for this.. OMG

You would be wise to immediately call your bank and have them block that card number.

As long as these scammers have a valid number in their card possession, there is nothing to stop them from trying to take your money.

They aren't calling from "Arizona".  They are calling from a call center in India.  They just use various area codes and fake "locations" to throw you off.
