hello

im from california and about a month ago i purchased an extended warranty thru fidelity automotive solutions and the product i got was from consumer direct warranty services. i paid $395 down and am paying $127.78 for a total of $2695. so i was told by rob @ fidelity that my warranty would be activated after 30 and 1000 miles. so i waited and took my car in to the dealer for a diagnostic. the dealer then tried to file a claim online @ www.beginaclaim.com he then called me saying my claim was denied. i was thinking to myself thats impossible cuz the cooling fan is a covered part under the warranty i purchase plan called secure choice. i then started doin some research online i found this site with a bunch of complaints just like mine. this company is very clever in minupulating people into buying false products. can anyone help me in gettin my money back ... im lost!

    Got taken too!.....Bill
Surely wish I'd read posts/complaints re: Consumer Direct Warranty Services
BEFORE being suckered into an ext. warr. contract!

Mepco will get (or already has) my last payment soon.  Get my money back?  No, passed 60 days...per your contract.  You may cancel policy though... ANY refund?...NO!

Sellers (phone conversation) made CDWS SO very inviting, "we cover nearly everything!"  Wanted my exact mileage.  Phone call was held while a visit to my garage found that number for them.  Sir, your vehicle WILL BE fully covered until 272,000+.....no problem!

Now their "covering nearly everything" seems that "everything" is addressed by WORDS in the contract, NOT that they will pay for anything in there!

Have had contract for over one year.  "Filed" first claim last week...must have 'certified mechanical services' analysis to begin claim.  Went to GM dealer....verdict, cracked fly wheel.  They called CDWS claims (and was told to file claim and info on-line).  They did.

    Claim denied..NO FLYWHEEL coverage!

I gave GM dealer 'go ahead on repair'.  Once transmission was out, dealer found...starter motor's spring on Bendix was broken.  Dealer read the CDWS contract and "yes" that is covered.  They called CDWS, claims person says that THIS component IS covered, file claim online with repair codes.

An hour later service rep from GM calls....now they say starter motor is NOT covered...."your starter motor failed due to 'mechanical' problem and NOT via an electrical problem as stated in your contract".

I called CDWS irate.  Gal stated, YOUR problem is mechanical and not electrical..for which starter motor IS covered, as stated in your contract.

Sure enough, IF you read the "fine print", it IS there.  Surely I can get my money back then?  You must call MEPCO...too late for refund...>60 days!

SO....here I sit after paying to MEPCO over $2,000 for worthless CDWS coverage.

Truck WAS repaired....new starter motor and a new flywheel.  Because of a broken spring, the small Bendix engaging gear would "ting" its teeth on flywheel.

Parts & labor cost me over $1,400 out of pocket.  SO this was over a $3,400 learning experience!!  Plus GM's time and frustration, and mine!

GM service personnel were flabbergasted...NEVER heard this walk the tightrope and side stepping definitions of CDWS on claim's denial.  Their GM ext. warr. would've paid for both items.....NO PROBLEM.

Guess one gets just what you pay for.....but WHAT a price to pay for a 'unpleasant screw job'!  PLEASE BE INFORMED...DO NOT purchase from CDWS!

Told the CDWS person on phone (after waiting about 3 hours for their return call..."our personnel are all assisting other callers, your wait will be more than 10 mins."

At 7 mins., on at least THREE calls, a voice says leave your name, phone number and last four digits of your VIN so that we may address your problem.) WHAT a scam you have going and I WILL be NEGATIVE walking advertisement for your under-handed firm!

Woe is me....let the buyer beware...DO NOT do business with Consumer Direct Warranty Services.....you WILL get serviced, like in SCREWED!!

IF there is a class action lawsuit, I WANT to be included.  These companies of thieves (CDWS and Mepco) must be brought to their knees!  Contact me at: db6817@dragonbbs.com

PS: it now seems to me that nearly EVERY claim could be denied on their part because of their definitions....worn parts, pre-existing condition, electrical vs. mechanical?

What a scam!  Bill from Ohio

I to have been taken in by mepco.  In Dec of 2009 my water pump went out and they did not cover it.  Talk to  one of there employees and he told me that it should be covered, it is now April and never heard from the again.  Tried to use my warranty again on April 19 and was denied again. If there is a class action lawsuit please count me in. I also have two cars under there warranty.  Please connect me at lkirzner@yahoo.com

A friend of mine also had a similar issue and he found a phone number for US Fidelis they even answer it 800-649-1856, and they are supposedly still in business. He has yet to get his warranty problem corrected but at least he was able to talk to a person.

Your Friend was lucky, US Fidelis has filled BK, Mepco the finance company has been running to reduce the cancellations, since they and the third party vendors are on the hook to pay back the consumer. The US Fidelis owners are believed to have taken 100 million from the company. I believe there is a third party now running, but Mepco is financing the bill. Last I heard time was limited on keeping the doors open, I believe they have a daily/weekly saved deals number to hit, and once they fall below that the doors are closed. Saved deals is talking the consumer out of cancelling.

My name is Joseph Shelvin and I purchased an extended warranty or what I thought was an extended warranty through a company called Certus L.L.C. They also operate as Vemeco and Dealer Warranty Services. They auto debit your account and provide no personal contact. My forward drum seal is damaged and reverse return spring is broken. They portray like this is the best warranty you can get, in reality is a bogus scam that has denied the claim. All of the numbers that the give you to you in your warranty has an answering machine wanting you to leave them a message. I in turn called Renewable Auto Care and you can not reach them either. I then looked up Certus on the internet and we finally got a person. Once we started inquiring about the warranty she wanted to know how did we get that number and would not answer any questions and told us to contact Renewable Auto Care and hung up. If any needs the number for Cettus go to their website and their number is posted. So now we have the report from the BBB stating that the have an "F" rating. So if anyone who has had problems with these people and have a class action law suit in force, or any information you can give us to please contact us at drucillasimpson56@gmail.com. The BBB also said to file a claim with them also because there is a government lawsuit against them. SIGNING OUT "PISSED"

    Mr. Joseph Shelvin
The number to reach Certus is 1-805-987-8803. That is the only line you can get a person to speak to. But unfortunately they will not tell you anything. Everyone call this number everyday all day to give them the grief that they have given us.

We are also going through the same ordeal.   I am sure a denial letter will be in the mail just from reading all of the responses on this site.
Many of you mentioned a "class action", has anyone taken the first step into doing this?  Talk is cheap, so what are we going to do, just set around and wait for someone to say they started a class action?
Our local TV station does investigations on this sort of thing so I'm going to start there then proceed as need be.

Call your local Better Business Bureau and explain what has happened.  They will file a claim for you.   Make sure you ask for repayment of repair and what you paid for the warranty.
Keep spreading the word so others don't go through the same ordeal.
    Good Luck.

I purchased a warranty from Fidelity Automotive Solutions about 3 months ago in May.  I put down 500 dollars and have a monthly payment of 150. The agents name was Maddison Pudinsky who sold me the warranty claiming that I would have nothing to worry about once 30 days passes and 100 miles have been driven.  He told me that the transmission and engine are all covered in the warranty.  My car started feeling funny while I was driving it about 2 weeks ago, so I took the car to a mechanic who is ASE Certified and who deals specifically in the make and model of my car.  I explained that I have an extended warranty through Fidelity Automotive Solutions which they have never heard of.  He diagnosed my car and found multiple problems wrong.  Everything that was found wrong with the car was all covered in the warranty according to Maddison Pudinsky.  They filed a claim on Friday 8/6/2010, and on Tuesday the shop calls me and says that they received an email saying that an adjuster will be in contact with them within the next 2 days.  It is now Thursday 8/12/2010, and I get a call from the shop saying that they received an email that the claim is denied stating that the car had these problems before I took it to the shop.  I don't know how that is because i've never had the shop fix anything from this car.  I just purchased this car in the beginning of the year.  Also, they stated that the claim was also denied because it was 38 miles over the mileage reading from when I first brought it to the shop.  WTF??? I have been trying all day to get in contact with someone but apparently they only deal with you through EMAIL claiming that this is a better process.   WTF???  Since when is it better to deal with a situation through email when "my car is in the damn shop and i'm lost as to why my claim is denied for all the things that you told me was covered, and I cant get a hold 1 damn person".  I then emailed them and no response either.  WTF??? I really feel that this company just scammed me.

PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW ABOUT THIS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BECAUSE IM READY TO JUMP ON BOARD.

We are experiencing the same problems.  We have proof of the charges on a credit card statement and want assistance in getting our money back.  We were told that the repair facility had to file the claim.  Needless to say they gave them the denial and the run around, after numerous of e-mail.  We were never able to talk to alive person.  Have anyone reported this company to the Better Business Bureau?  We received information stating that we were covered thru 2016.
