I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted. After the transmission was fixed, they refuse to pay, cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops, they said it was not necessary. So I ended up paying for the repairs.

I was a potential customer, until I read the complaints about DBW. Exactly what does DBW pay for and how long does it take for the policy to become active?

Yea, how much did they reimburse the repair facility for your water pump? DBW paid a whopping $46.00 out of the $105.00 for the water pump.  I'm sure glad you are happy!

I find this comment totally truthful,  They are a bunch of liars.... I am now suffering due to them finding an excuse not to authorize my repairs.

Well after reading all of the above complaints, I can honestly say I wished I would have read them all before I purchased this Extended Warranty.  I currently have a transmission that is shot on a 2005 automobile and they found an excuse not to cover the claim. I also purchased the Elite Plan and was assured I would not ever have to worry that this plan was the best in the market/industry. I read the outlines and policy, expecially the exclusions and felt somewhat comfortable. Now that I have a claim, I was informed to read "Liability Limitations". Apparently there was a bulletin issued that warns about a servo pin that is faulty. With no recall notice, or the Dealership advising of possible troubles down the road, they just let you sit and wait until this occurrs and then tell you "Oh So Sorry" Ya right !!!  I would never recommend this Company for any type of warranty.  I am in the insurance business and our goal is to assist people in case of a loss, not tell them "So Sorry"  Please Please Please people, do not subject yourselves with my circumstance and waste your money on this worthless warranty... You will loose for sure, and be out monies paid for nothing but a piece of paper they send you.

I totally agree with you and your statements.  This is a worthless Company, with no customer service satisfaction. They really are a bunch of East Coast Crooks... What a waste of money.

Having just been through a miserable mechanical mishap, I totally agree with each and every complaint I have read. Now finding that their rating is a D+ I wonder why it is not an "F-" This is a very misrepresented Company that WILL TAKE every dollar they can, and cannot wait to cancel your extended warranty and charge you a 250.00 administation fee. FOR WHAT !!!  just another swipe out of the consumers pocket, which they are very well know for. I have learned a valueable lesson... Just ask any certified mechanic "How many extended warranty Companies have paid for damages" and you will find out what I found out.  About 100% of them get denied due to some small interputed phrase in their contract. I honestly feel that a class action lawsuit should be filed on this Company.  I am sure we would all win... I am all for one, lets see how many responses we get and lets do it people. They need to cease and desist in their fraudulant acts immediately.  DO NOT get caught buying one of their warranties.  YOU WILL BE SORRY... I assure you

When did you fall off the turnip truck. How can you state that they are reputible and reasonable. Just read the comments. I very seriously doubt that you got a new engine under this warranty program. You are very misleading and non impressive to me to say the least.

RD and Sam, Thank You for your comments. You  probably saved me a couple thousand dollars.  I was going to purchase this, but just talking to the sales staff, they are very pushy and wanted my money RIGHT NOW !!! I wanted something to review and I was told "No", that is why they had a 30 day cancellation policy. They wanted my money first then they would send me a policy, in other wards, Pay Now, ask questions later. I did not like them from the first call.  Thanks again for your positive input and saving me money and headaches...

I feel so taken advantage of by this company. I purchased the warranty from DIRECT BUY in august, the same month I purchased my '06 Nissan Murrano. The car had a light oil leak and very small defect in the transfer case. I flat out asked the salesman if and when this issue would progress and get worse enough that it would need repairing if it would be covered. He then told me that "absolutely that would be covered" and I had "nothing to worry about, if that happened they would take care of it." I recently took my car in to find out that it has gotten a bit worse and that I also needed to replace a control arm. I then got the response from DIRECT BUY... THAT'S NOT COVERED. they would however pay to replace the control arm..what they will pay for parts and labor $207.. The part itself costs $223!!!! Needless to say I am livid. Oh I was also told that in the event of the repair a rental car would be paid for. NOPE!! Rental only covered if the repair is 8+ hours. YOU WON'T DO THE REPAIR SO HOW DO KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE!!!!! Thank god for Sid Dillion in Nebraska who has told me they will cover my rental. DIRECT BUY WARRANTY is the biggest piece of crap company I have ever delt with in my life. The best part is I see all the excuses they have given other people..I got no such excuses when I ask why a got the response "just isn't". I am a single mother of two kids so money isn't exactly falling from the sky and I believed that this would be a good investment... That was my savings you people took from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I contacted the FBI office in NJ and they told me for everyone to file a internet fraud complaint here. DO NOT CANCEL THE WARRANTY IT SIGNS YOUR SUIT AWAY. JUST CANCEL THE CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT.
