I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted. After the transmission was fixed, they refuse to pay, cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops, they said it was not necessary. So I ended up paying for the repairs.

I purchase a Direct Buy warranty a few months ago. This comapany is definitely a scam I have a Range Rover that should have been covered (water pump). I was told that the car would have had to be towed for it to be covered. When I called to compalin Eric Howard (rude manager) told me that he canceled my warranty. This was done without my knowledge. I am consulting with an attorney as we speak. Total rip off. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not do business with this company. Very rude and
    unprofessional!!!!!

    DIRECT BUY WARRANTY A FRAUD

NOT A BBB MEMBER OR ACCREDITED

THEY RENT OFFICE SPACE FROM REGIS I NOTIFIED FBI OFFICE IN NJ AND LOCAL POLICE

    MY STORY:

I purchased a 2003 Mini Cooper S. I looked on the internet to purchase a extended warranty for my car. I came accross Direct Buy Warranty. I called them and gave them my miles and the year make and model. They told me they could extend my warranty to 200k miles with a warranty for 2400.00 total. They told me it would cover everything on my car except body, clutch, light bulbs, and wear and tear items. I accepted the contract and knew it had a 30 day waiting period. I purchased the warranty in December in 2011. The grace period was over on the 18th of January. On or about January 24th 2012 I heard a strange noise in my car. I drove it to Global BMW Mini in Atlanta. They inspected my car and told me I had a suspension problem. They inspected the car and I gave them my warranty contract and number. This was on Friday this past week. I heard back from them today on Monday, January 30 and they told me this was a pre exising condition and it would no be covered. I called back 2 times today and they hung up on me. I finally got somneone on the line and asked them how this could be a pre exising condition when it just happend. They told me it didnt matter and hung up again. I asked them to cancel my contract and refund my money since they would not pay. They said no because I filed a claim and it was a pre existing condition. I got the cancelation documents from them and it reads if I sign and cancel I wave all judements, suits and claims. They are trying to keep charging me card and not paying. So I canceled my debit card and disputed the item with my bank. If you look on the internet and google earth their address its inside a UPS Store. They have over 2-3 k compaints. Just google the company Direct Buy Warranty and read the stories. They are pathetic. I have lost a total of 387.50 in charges with nothing to show for it. They deny everyones claim and say its pre existing. They are required to send a Tech out to look at the car. No one was sent and I asked them how do they know it was pre existing condition and they told me they have ASE people who know it is. I have all books and maintenance reocords on my car from 2003 to 2012 and all current. My car has not been neglected.

The majority has it nationally. Direct buy auto warranty is a confide rip off. The people who are writing the positive posts, and it's all too obvious , are shills, reps of this criminal organization. As you RAF through these posts, it s not rocket science for anyone who can walk and chew gum at the same time to realize this at all. They have an F rating with the better business bureau. The attorney general is very familiar with there antics. My only question is why in the name of all that's holy is it that none of these governing agencies are right now in the process of shutting them down. Why are they getting away with such low life criminal activities. It's just damned ponderous!. Everyone should inundate these agencies with complaints every day until they have had enough. Then they will finally DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS GROUP of bums

    Thank You
Thanks to all those who posted their experience here.  I talked to DBW this morning and it all sounded too good to be true.  It was half the price of other warranties and today only was a 'plus one year' special that took my coverage from 3yr/60000 to 4yr/100000.  They said they would knock $200 off the price if I paid in full right then.  I did not go for that option and gave them my CC info for the downpayment of $154.  Then I found all these complaints.  I immediately called back to cancel my account and after some back and forth(he offered a $200 discount) the guy says he will send me a form to cancel my account???  Huh??  The charge hasnt even gone through yet...why do I need a form?? I immediately called my bank and cancelled my card. Good luck getting my money!!!  I feel sorry for all you folks who got ripped off by this scam but appreciate  you all taking the time to alert others to this company.

I have to say I am very concerned.  I just brought my 2005 Chrysler 300 in for a repair.  By the sounds of it I may not be getting the coverage that I paid for. Thank God it is not a big fix only 106.00 but that is not the point. I will report my finding once I get my car back. If I find them to be a fraudulent company I will be stopping payments to them and pursuing actions against them.  How dare they do this to hard working people.

Wow, I jsut got of the phone with these bandits, and once again, THEY LIED.  I have been waiting for my cancellation refund since the first of January.  After 8 calls, three faxes, they finally SENT ONLY A PORTION.  I questioned it and they state that their terminals are down and they would mail a check but not until Feb 15th.  They wanted their money up front, but I am having to fight, pay interest, and take the abuse over a simple cancellation.  They clearly indicate in there letter, it would be done within three to five business days.  Well I sure dont know how they do math, but Jan 3 to Feb 3rd is not 3 to 5 days. Now have to wait another two weeks for them to process a check.  Thats it... Im going to my attorney.  This is out and out fraud.  DO NOT  PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT trust this company or there cronies that LIE to YOU.  So sad that they can still operate and do business with the general public.  Enough Said.... NOT, This will never be the end of these theives...

Keep up with all the "True Complaints" They will do anything to get your money, but I'll be damned if they will give it back.  I truly wish someone would shut them down. They are do dishonest, rude, and most of all a bunch of Thieves.  I wish I lived in the same State, I would sue their [***] for sure.  However, if anyone in NJ initiates a class action law suit, I would be very greatful if you posted the law firm handling it and I will definetly join it.  Anything to close these theives down.... Thanks

I have nothing good to say about this company except every item on a car has wear and tear on it.  They don't care if a seal leaks, it has not failed.  The vehicle has to breakdown before they pay, if they even do this.  i can go on, but it just makes me madder.

My recommendation is to not purchase their product.

Same complaint as some above. They have it figured out. If you don't have a breakdown they claim it's wear and tear and won't cover the part. If you do have a breakdown, you haven't maintained your vehicle. My water pump was leaking.  The only time they do that is when they are failing. Because I drove my car to a repair facility, they aren't going to cover it because it hadn't broken down. Asking for my money back and will try to seek retribution through other means. If anyone is thinking about sending these guys money for a warranty, please reconsider. They will not be there for you.
