I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted. After the transmission was fixed, they refuse to pay, cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops, they said it was not necessary. So I ended up paying for the repairs.

My name is Kathleen and I also have a complaint about this warranty company. They are rude and obnoxious. They refused to cover me for valve cover gaskets. I am still waiting for my refund papers to come in the mail. If I dont get my money back, I am going to the media and obtaining a lawyer.

I am confused how this company has been able to rip people off for so long and get away with it, is New Jersey that easy to run a criminal enterprise within its boarders.  I thought all the best scammers were in cyber cafe's in Nigeria, thou and behold NJ must be the Nigeria of the USA.  I bought the Warranty on a used 2003 Audi a6.  I specifically inquired about the fact that I knew nothing about the history of this vehicle, I was told not to worry, everything would be covered, with the exceptions of the belts, lights, fluids, etc.  I still to this dqay did not recieve any kind of full contract.  I recently called them to inquire as to rather a window motor would be covered "my rear passenger side window stopped working"  they stated yes it is covered just take it to a repair shop and have them call it in.  So I took it to the Audi Dealer.  They called it in after diagnosing it and ascertaining that it was indeed the motor for the power window.  DBW  agreed to pay $237.55 for the part and $100 for labor.  The dealer was perplexed, his cost for the part was over $340.  He called DBW and informed them of this fact, they responded by stating that they put a price on the part that was a national average for that part.  I got on and googled the part number, there was no way you are getting that part for the price they are offering.  I called up DBW and spoke with a rep.  I just wanted him to give me a phone number or internet address where I or the dealer could purchaser the part for the amount of money that they said was adaquate.  He did alot of talking in circles.  I informed him that I could only get a used part for the amount they were offering, I wanted to know that if I were to use a used part and that part failed within my 5 year warranty period would DBW cover that same repair again, I could not get an answer out of him to save my life.  At the end of his mis-representations and lies, I informed him that I taped the entire conversation, he about sh-t himself, he tried explaining to me that it was illegal to tape someone without their knowledge, however I explained to him that I live in NY, it is legal to tape any conversation as long as I am a part of that conversation "active participant", I also explained to him that I am a member of the Law Enforcement community, so I am very well versed in what is legal and what is not.  I have not digitized this recording yet, but will soon, and will share with you.

Snap! Got him good I can't believe what I am hearing from "jack" isn't there a manual that is produced by ASE every year what the cost of parts and labor are to help shops know how to bid jobs? Isn't that the manual they should be using?

I'm guessing by the time most of you will read this you've probably already been ripped off, but just in case you're checking first  PLEASE DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY. They are scam artists. I was told I could review my contract and if I didn't like it I had 30 days to get my money back. Well 3 days after I bought it I got the contract in the mail and could tell it was a bunch of Sh*it so I called to cancel ( 3 days after ). The guy kept me on the phone so long and I said over and over I didn't like it and wanted to cancel... So finally he says "ok but you need to sign a cancellation paper" , he said he would be emailing it to me right away. Well I never got it and when I called in the next day I was told this guy was the ONE AND ONLY guy who could send the email and he left early the day before and they didn't know when he would be back in. I called and called and finally got the email from someone else. This company plays games and it's just not worth it. Go with a different company.

I wouldn't say this is a compliant but, I recently purchased your extended warranty. I don't the young gentleman that I spoke to on the phone but my girlfriend was on the phone also because I asked her to call. You I travel on my  job so I needed an extened warranty incase I would have a problem with my while I was on the road. So I needed to purchase a warranty so while I was speaking with this young man he told  me about the warranty that it wouldn't start until 90 days out, but  I need something to start in 30 days at lease becuase I was going to be on the road, so he told me the he could authorize me to use it in 30days if I would need it. So at the time I told him to ssend this to my e-mail and I would read it Now I just received my contract from your company and there is nothing with his name on it or his name as I ask him to include in the contract but nothing so I called on Sunday and spoke with about the matter. And was told to e-mail you and call you about this Ib am on the road so I need a supervisor to call me and to authorized if need be for me to able if I need to . To a honor this I do have a witness. Call me on  my cell 915-929-8510 Becuase this is not on my contract it states that I can't use it until 07/03/12 I do need something in writing nothing personal this is business please call me. I thank you very much.

Just came close to buying a warrant from Kurt or Kirk he was a nice guy but it all sounded to good to be true giving me 6 years and 130k miles? Over the weekend I did some shopping and today spoke with 3 other companies I decided on a 2 yr 24k plan with Clovis which is backed by mercury ins. After reading these reviews and the rebuttals from this company and boy am I glad I avoided a big mistake. Pre existing ? Wtf are cara humans? I mean the SUV I just bough after one day went back to the dealer it needed a valve job their mechanic misdiagnosed the car. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had to file a claim related to anything on the motor. I am surprised they haven't been shut down with the pre existing claim they use to steal money. Wow dodged a bullet! I am curious if you own a boat and tow it to the lake or on a trip and the truck breaks down is that considered abuse and will it qualify a claim to be turned down? Man thank you for this website

I guess I should have read these posts before I purchased. When I called for the warranty I told them that i had a pre-existing condition and they said that was fine. When I took my car in, they denied the claim and now they wont refund all of my money. I guess they have no problem ripping off hard working people.

My VSC # is 443340 I purchased a Platinum Elite package in March on 2011 for a 2001 Mercedes BEZ S600. @ 79000 Miles on the Car. With FULL MAINTANCE RECORD OR EVERY OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE PERFORMED ON HAND> 1 year and 3 months later and 4000 miles Plus laterI notice Smoke coming out of my undercarege and the front of the Engine. I stopped and had called the tow truck and had the car sent to Mercedes Benz of Naperville, In ILLINOIS. After the Diagnosis, they found out the OIL COOLER HOUSING, is defective, hence leaking OIL, also found that universal Disc needs to be replaced, Cable wiring, 2 engine mounds, 2 strut bushings, Left front Lower ball joint, Truck hydraulic pump, and truck lace needs to be repaired or replaced. Truck Latch and 2 strut front bushings are not covered in the Plan. But everything else is.  The Mechanics and service advisors have submitted the WO to DirectBuyautowarranty. 3 days later the warranty company calls me back and says that they said that due to neglect they will not cover any of my claims.SAM SMITH OR SAM EDWARDS Mentioned that wear and tear is not covered. OIL cooler housing is not a wear and tear item. The only wear and tear items are Truck latch and 2 strut busing... SAM EDWARD would not transfer my call to any one and mentioned it stops at him. They will not cover any thing. Due to me not taking action on these issues. I am not a mechanic; I take my car in the dealership every time for Service A and B and depend on them for the diagnosis, once they tell me I FIX the problem. I have all the previous repaired records of all the service work that I performed and what the factory warranty covered. SAM EDWARD “Fake NAME" Denied that they have an office outside of USA. There corp. office is in CYPRUS. He told me that he does not know what I am talking about. He had no Names to give for Supervisors and kept telling me like I was a fault for all of this. THIS COMPANY IS A F***ING SCAM>>>>> IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CA HELP ME WITH THEM PLEASE CONTACT ME @ atif.sidd23@gmail.com. I will be more that happy to take some sort of action against this injustic. ALSO THEY HAVE A Tendency OF CHARGING your account double , which I records for as well. Looking for answers!!

Atif, if you submit a ticket/claim with ANY other problems noted on the car, they will AUTOMATICALLY state that you have neglected to properly maintain your vehicle. You essentially have to "find" and fix ONE ITEM AT A TIME.

Also, be VERY careful about what your complaint to the mechanic is.  If you happen to use similar WORDING in your COMPLAINT, that is *similar* to a known TSB, they will claim it's a known TSB which they don't cover, even if it's a COMPLETELY separate issue.

There's no resolution service with these guys either.  They either uphold (and under-reimburse) your claim, or they deny it, and that's that.

Sorry you had to learn this the hard way (I did too).  And since there's no way I'm going to get my money back from them, I'm just learning the game and playing it smart so I CAN get my future repairs covered.

On that note, that now means that YOU have to cover ALL the repairs they now know about, or they'll continue to say you continue to neglect properly maintaining your vehicle.

Do not purchase Direct Buy Auto Warranty, they are a complete rip-off. We submitted three different claims and they were all denied. Go to Warranty Direct, they cost a little more but they atleast cover your claims.

On Monday, I took my 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van to Dick Myers Chrysler for repairs. My van needed front brake pads and rotor service, sway bar bushings and stabilizer bar, and the ignition key cylinder replaced, in addition to some other repair work. The dealer service advisor called Direct Buy Warranty for authorization of repairs and was told that all of the above items would be covered by my service contract! The advisor was told that she would receive a return call with claim authorization and payment information. Direct Buy Warranty offers such great service and coverage on repairs.
