Yesterday a phone # 1-855-763-0456 called and said they were from Premium Tech Support and wanted an ok to let them into my Internet system, I refused (they had me type in support.me and my computer screen said not to do this), I didn't.
Now this morn at aprox 8:30 I had a call from 267-354-8119 claiming they were from Premium Tech Support, I hung up and they called back and I told them to stop bothering me and I hung up again. How do they get your phone # and email address?  BEWARE!!!

My monitor was suddenly frozen with a warning not to turn off displaying a phone# to call.  A guy identified as Ritchie from Microsoft telling me my pc had been hacked.  I was charged  $249 to fix. First they use Microoftop name,  then Cyber Tech, finally the bill was issued by Computers Doctor. The icon still Premium Tech.  Where can I file a complaint in Canada and USA?

Been getting the same calls.  New number 877/224-2213.   Also said they go by Mac-Tech.  My calls are coming from India.  Don't let them into your computer.  They also claim to be Microsoft Windows.  Bad People.

A similar message pops up on my computer occasionally when I go to Putlocker.com and click on the New Movies field.  Sometimes an audio message is included telling me about a virus on my machine.  There is no virus.  Just close the window and continue on with what you were doing before.  It's just a scam.  I suppose I could allow them access to a separate ancient bare-bones computer I have that just has DOS on it and a single doc file that says "Kiss My Ass"  and watch it drive them crazy.

If these people are calling you telling you that you have a virus and they need access to remove it from your machine, simply tell them that since they say my computer has a virus, then they must already have access so just tell them to fix it and hang up on them.

I am so ashamed! I'm always very careful with unknown messages, but I got connected to this group when I was trying to upgrade a computer cleaning program. Somehow it got transferred to this bunch of thugs.  I should have hung up before listening for more than 20 minutes, trying to understand their rapid fire, garbled pitch. I stayed because I thought they were working for the cleaning program company and were trying to help me fix it.  Finally,  I told them I couldn't wait any longer and that I would report them if they kept harassing me. Then another man came on the line, still had an accent, but was calmer and easier to understand. He said he would fix whatever had happened and before I knew it, he had taken over my computer to "fix" it. He said someone would call the next day to see if things were working. They did and I said "yes" although I hadn't used it much. They also said someone else would call but not to talk to them. There was a second call which I hung up on.
The only strange thing I have noticed since was at least 100 emails saying a message to .... couldn't be delivered. Most were to people I didn't know (other people who got caught in this?) so I marked them as Spam and deleted them. Some were from people I know so I kept them. Now I am so distressed, not so much about the money, even though I ight be able to get some of that back, but to think that this group has access to my files and passwords, etc. I will change as many as I can of those, Is there anything else I can/should do?

First off, they may have installed a RAT on your computer. They may still be able to access it even though you've since realized your mistake. The safest thing to do is to reinstall Windows and reinstall all of your programs. Also, use a password manager like Lastpass and start using a randomly generated password for different websites.

I also fell for this scam.  The pop-up number was (866) 889 5958 when my screen froze.  I am an absolute novice  on the PC and did allow them access to my computer.  They fixed the problem and charged $350.00 for the service and three years tech services.  Yesterday they phoned to say they were going out of business and wanted to refund my $350 and required me to have them do it by internet banking.  What kind of scam is this now?

Once you find a sucker to fall for your scam, you might as well keep playing them.  Take them for another round.
The "internet banking" line is a lead-in to conning you into giving them control of your computer while you are logged into your bank account, supposedly "to refund money to your account".  More likely, they'll drain your whole account, including any overdraft protection.

This variation.. replies to It's called "reloading"..
has just started showing up in a few complaints.  It's a step beyond the "anti-virus removal" scam.

I was transferred to tech support by Sams Club Credit, because my computer wasn't compatible with Sams new website to make payments. The person I was transferred to @888-746-6629 wanted to look into my computer to see what was wrong. They said there were multiple times that my computer computer was attempted to be hacked. A gentleman named Jack offered me a package deal to cover anything that would happen to any of my phones, computers, etc for 2 yrs @ $349.99. I told him I couldn't afford it & because we are a low income he gave us a deal @$199.99. In 2 days I got an error message that Windows detected ZEUS Virus. I called the original # for help & was folded I had been hacked, that my fire wall was not active etc.. . Do Not ever trust anything on the phone!!!!!!

I got scammed for $200 two years ago apparently.  I say apparently because  I dont remember this but now I'm getting at least 5 calls a day from them telling me to log on for a free scan.   I tell them every time that I no longer have that computer even tho I do and still use it without any problems.  I'm wondering if I gave them access to my PC two years ago, and my credit card number, is there anything they can do with it now?  I haven't gotten any unknown charges to my credit card.

Premium Tech Support is a form of stalking terrorism. Why? Because now that I refuse to submit to there services they continue to call me using a " unknown phone number". O-yes it' a computer generated call, if you answer there is no one there, answer it a few times and then you will get someone....try telling them to take you off there phone calling list.

Premium Technical Support has been calling for the past few days, several times a day  (703-574-7137), leaving a message that my "cloud on my Apple computer has been compromised.  Need to call for technical assistance."  On the 3rd call yesterday, I picked up and was directed to a "Technical Support Representative".  Person came on the line stating I needed to attach my smart phone to my computer in order to fix the problem.  I stated I didn't own an Apple computer, never have and I was not giving him access to my computer.  He put me on hold -  I waited.  Came back and said same thing again - connect smart phone to PC for assistance.  Told him he was a scammer and not to call again.   He hung up.  Haven't had any calls so far today.  Also looked up phone number and no number is listed for any business in Sterling, VA.
