Yesterday a phone # 1-855-763-0456 called and said they were from Premium Tech Support and wanted an ok to let them into my Internet system, I refused (they had me type in support.me and my computer screen said not to do this), I didn't.
Now this morn at aprox 8:30 I had a call from 267-354-8119 claiming they were from Premium Tech Support, I hung up and they called back and I told them to stop bothering me and I hung up again. How do they get your phone # and email address?  BEWARE!!!

jennifer, nancy & peter posting on 16 Aug 2017 must work for this filthy scamming gang of thugs. This scam is still going as of today using the phone number 888-829-5571. I was checking the NASA website on the eclipse when another tab opened on my browser that has an audible siren going with a recording of someone saying the same information that was displayed on the screen which said:
    "This site says...

    **YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN BLOCKED**

    Error #268D3

Please call us immediately at: (888) 829-5571
Do not ignore this critical alert.
If you close this page, your computer access will be disabled to prevent further damage to our network.

Your computer has alerted us that it has been infected with a virus and spyware. The following information is being stolen...

    > Facebook Login
    > Credit Card Details
    > Email Account Login
    > Photos stored on this computer
You must contact us immediately so that our engineers can walk you through the removal process over the phone. Please call us within the next 5 minutes to prevent your computer from being disabled.

    Toll Free: (888) 829-5571"
This is just a scam that does no real harm unless you contact them and give them access to your computer. I did delay closing the tab and it did lock up my browser after a few minutes but I was able to close the browser using task manager. When I reopened the browser the alert message tab was still there but I was able to delete the tab before it locked up my browser again. I got right on with the Geek Squad at Best Buy where I have a support contact just to be sure all is well.
Whatever you do don't call these jerks and for sure don't give them any bank or credit card information.

I fell for the same scam late last year after panicking over a pop up claiming the computer was infected.
Luckily they didn't get any money off me due to an issue with my card. But I've been getting calls off the asking for $600. They seem to be using different names every time they call. I've reported it to the authorities but I'm not hopeful.
I didn't even realise it was a scam until just recently.

This scam is still going on with little done by authorities. They attempt to gain remote access to your computer to falsely diagnose viruses and sell you fake service. Once they are in your PC they brick it. Which means they syskey it. Locking you out and demanding money to "fix it". They are 100% scam!

I just received a call from Premium Technical Support.  They wanted access to my  computer.  I refused.  I'm sure a lot of people fall for this.  Be aware!  Do not let anyone have access to your computer!  I reported the call to www.donotcall.gov    Every time I get a bogus call, or solicitor I report it

The crooks that came after me were from Nigeria. They are not calling themselves Premium Tech Support but according to my card the charges came from Saburi EU 8, whatever that means. Today I received a threatening email that will be accompanying my complaint to be filed.

I've received calls from Premium Tech Support several times and each time it is a different number. They have called 2 times today (202-798-3016 and 202-827-6097). The second time, I hung up on them but then called back to see if it was a legitimate number. This is a serious scam and now I am terrified they have gotten into my cell phone. Is that possible as their calls have come in on my cell phone and I called them back on my cell phone.

we got two calls, the second one1-844-291-4379 almost got me. We had used Geek Squad in February, I watched them use all their software, wrote it down like Hitman Pro. I cancelled the service March 11, 2017. he gave me a credit card number, 4317-6730-0991-7000 4317 is Bank of India so whose ever this is, I am sure it is closed, and claims he took a payment June 29, 2018, He had my husbands email address wrong, and I got sick of him, I played with him for a while, gave him the last 3 digits of all ten of our cards and he pounced on our Discover card, it was activated in August so he lied. We have a wonderful ATT phone that blocked 1000 numbers and has smart call block.  I suggest everyone get this type of phone.

Total SCAM!!  I have a brand new laptop and as I was browsing a loud alarm sound and a voice over saying 'your computer has been infected with malware... do not ignore this message... dangerous...serious... fraud...'
Of course anyone hearing this will be alarmed and probably call. [***]!!   NEVER call them. If there is an issue take your computer to a shop, Best Buys, local computer store ANY where but call them!! DO NOT be a victim. INFORM the people around you especially your parents or grandparents who may fall victims to this kind of scam.

I have had numerous calls from them! Have told  them not to call but they continue. I suspect they may b be  IYOGI operating under a new name. I got scammed by them 2 years ago and they used the same tactics of calling relentlessly.

I received 5 calls today with  unavailable on my caller ID.  When I answered  I was told I purchased a service for $548.99 which I did not.  Then I was asked to go on my computer and view the certificate.  I responded NO and asked them what country they were calling from that they call from and the woman said CALIFORNIA.  Then I told them I did not need their services and was told I would be taken off their call list.  I know this was a scam from the start and am angry that there are people trying to take advantage of us.

I bit for this scheme because they came on initially as linked to Apple, which computer I have.  They offered a lifetime 24/7 protection from adware, malware, hackers, and security violations.  I bit and bought the plan for $399 and gave them access to my computer to clean out what they said were four parts of my computer which had "established" invasions of my computer.

Bottom line:  1. They cleaned out all the files from my computer.  2. They billed me $399 MONTHLY CHARGE instead of one time/lifetime.  3. The billed me for a $4.95 MONTHLY charge.

These people are slick and slimy.  For damage control, of course I had to change all my passwords, protect all of my financial entities, have my computer wiped clean, use my offsite 24/7 backup to restore lost files, cancel credit cards, etc.  A NIGHTMARE.

I have no idea what more they will do to me.  They OWN all of my private data.

    BEWARE!!

They did the same exact thing to me. I gave them access to computer and I gave them my credit card number. Once I realized it was a scam, I told them to get off of my computer by taking over the controls as they were still trying to put get or take information on my computer. I called my credit card company and cancel that card and requested a new card and told them not to honor any payments charged going forward. Now I'm going to have to change all my banking information etc. Just not sure what they are capable of.
