Yesterday a phone # 1-855-763-0456 called and said they were from Premium Tech Support and wanted an ok to let them into my Internet system, I refused (they had me type in support.me and my computer screen said not to do this), I didn't.
Now this morn at aprox 8:30 I had a call from 267-354-8119 claiming they were from Premium Tech Support, I hung up and they called back and I told them to stop bothering me and I hung up again. How do they get your phone # and email address?  BEWARE!!!

I got suckered in by these [***] in 2015 for $786 they told me it was life time care from virises. They have just come back at me again for another $786, so much for their life time 1 off payment protection. I had to cancel my Visa card as they said they are automatically taking the money.  A PACK OF REAL THEIVES .... THIS LOT.

Microsoft tech blocked my computer. I had a blank screen and a 1-800 number to call. Said my computer had a Trojan virus. I don't know much about computers and paid them $99.99 for security. That was three months ago. Today, they blocked my computer again, from premium technical support. They said I had a virus! I told them that I had protection that I paid for. They said that was for only a few months. I asked them where they are located, he said New York. I asked for the business address and he wouldn't give it to me and hung up on me. I called back, got a different person, asked him where he was located, he said New Jersey. He also wouldn't give me a business address! All were foreigners. I told them they were scammers and he still was trying to sell me. Funny my computer got unblocked after raising hell and I told them they better never block my computer again! I wish there were something we could do to stop them.

I keep getting calls that show up as "UNKNOWN" on my cell phone.  I normally do not answer calls that show up like that.  Since it kept happening in just a few days time, I decided to answer to see if it was someone I needed to talk to or to put an end to it, whichever way that worked out.  It was "Ben" with Premium Technical Support.  Foreign accent. India? He was very pushy/persistent about getting me to open my we browser and telling me what to put in the address bar.  I was asking him questions about who he was, who he was with, no number showing up on my phone, etc.  As I asked questions, he had no real answers, just kept pushing past that to get me to open my computer to allow him access.  He finally gave me a phone number where he could be reached. 1-800-920-2270. Ben. Employee ID 861881.  I told him I would call him at that number, but I am too leery of it to call. He had my cell phone number, my email address, and my first name.  He said I installed their software on my computer and they have been getting notices about it shutting down and they need to access my computer to see if it is still installed or if there is a problem.  I did have computer trouble almost a year ago and had to use a tech support to fix some problems.  So maybe that support was good for a year and that time period is almost up so they want me to renew it.  Still...  May be legitimate, but with my doubts, I can't take the chance.

      Jennifer,
"Back away from Premium Tech Support!" (See my post from 7/26/17.) They did  a good job (I think) for me, but then they came at me with the refund scam, telling me that if I didn't allow them to access my bank account so they could refund me some money, they would crash my computer, take my personal information and do bad things with it. Uh, yeah.

      Stay away!

Ok, Just got off the 3rd phone call from these guys in less than 5 minutes!  They want to refund a payment made in May of 2017 via Quickbooks.  First call I hung up on them, they called back and I set the phone down and they hung up on me then called me back.  I told them I knew they were a scam and to leave us alone.  The caller was definitely from India but said his name was something like Ken Wilson...Anyway, his final remark (after I basically screamed at him!) was that he was going to lock up my computer...as you can see, I never gave him access!!!!  SCAMMM!!!!!!

I used Premium Tech Support for several months, and (at least to my knowledge) they did a good job for me, getting my computer's performance up. However, yesterday (July 26, 2017) they hit me with the "we're going out of business and need to give you a refund for unused services" bit. They wanted to give me $250 back. First they needed to reconnect with my computer to remove the old software, then they wanted to access my bank account so they could put the money back in. When I told them there was not way that was happening, they started out nice, then got kinda mean. The manager ("Floyd"...right!) said that if I didn't trust him to not do anything bad with my account, he would not only crash my computer but also use any personal info he could find and "do bad stuff with it." I wanted to make sure I heard him right, and I asked if he was indeed threatening me. He said "yes," and that I should trust him. (I told him that it's kinda hard to trust someone when their sales pitch is "I haven't done anything bad YET!")  He then, with control of my computer, proceeded to go through my history and find my banking main page. He kept pressuring me to log on, then started asking things like my mother's maiden name or my favorite pet's name. (I was recording all of this, by the way.) Eventually he just hung up, but not after my computer indeed stopped working for a while.

I ended up contacting the FTC with a formal complaint. They also had the "refund scam" as one to watch. I called my bank while I was still on the phone with the guy and told them what to watch for. In the meantime, I am not using my computer to access anything personal until I can take it and get it fully scanned and cleaned.

    What a world.

Same type of thing happened to me.  However, the phone number they provided was 877 958 7560.  I had previously had some work done on my computer by Orange Technical Services located in L.A. and they had provided good service as far as I knew.  On August 10th someone from Premium Technical contacted me (they sounded exactly like the ones I dealt with at Orange Tech Supt.) said they had lost their license and were going out of business and wanted to refund me $400.00 on the work they had done the previous year, which I had paid $499.99 for.  Well stupid me.  I now know I have been duped over several years.  They wanted me to open support.com so they could remove files that would no longer work and then refund the $400.00.  Okay, stupid me.  And I always pay close attention and have never considered me to be an easy target.  I guess since they had been "helping" for a couple years I felt secure.  However, lucky me, I watch my accounts every day.  When I literally pulled the plug out of the wall to my computer I reviewed my  checking and saving accounts.  There was a $1.00 deposit into my checking account and a $1.00 withdrawal from my savings account..  I couldn't react fast enough.  Contacted  my bank immediately and had my accounts frozen.  Dashed to the bank, opened new accounts, and while there, the bank employee, keeping watch on my old accounts, said, they are going for $500, then
$1500, and then $4000.00.  All while we sat there watching.  Praise God I had the account frozen.  They never got a dime buy I certainly hope they left a good trail.  Those guys need to be put away for a very long time.  The problem, however, is that they are probably in a foreign country.  They all had Indian, or Pakistanian accents.

If anyone comes in contact with the two above mentioned companies, turn off your computer and run for the hills.  You do not want to deal with them.  It is too much trouble rebuilding your accounts and online access.

I have been a pleased customer with Premium Technical Support for several years and overall been very satisfied with their service and they have pulled my system out of some real tailspins.  About a year ago they announced a lifetime membership with Premium Technical Support and that I would have to pay again for their help as long as I signed up for the lifetime program for about $430.  Being a satisfied customer I thought it would be a good idea and Ipaid up and away I went.  They continued to offer service and all was well.  Then they started these twenty dollar fees for driver security updates and virus alert programs and other stuff. Then it was a $2 refundable charge on my credit card each time I used them.  Why they would charge and turn around to refund?  I don't know.  I have calling the following number which 1-877-958-7560  for service.  They are quick to remind me that they do not ever call their customers.  For the past four months or so I continue get calls from Arabic dialect sounding people posing as Premium Technical Support telling me I have serious virus issues. I ignored all of these calls.  Recently a virus or spyware of sorts showed up so i naturally called them only to receive a busy signal each time I call.  And that's where I am today, calling only to get an ongioing busy signal.  Are they out of business?   Have they taken our money and run or what?  Anyone who shed light on this issue is invited to email me at wjohnson17@verizon.net and fill me in. Thank you Premium Technical Support for the years you have helped me, but where you disappeared to?  Thank you.

These guys are serious. I am a technician, my client got a number for me to contact them and I did. They wished to gain access to my computer, I said no way I am a technician and no one is attempting to get into my system. I was calling for a customer who they badger constantly. The next day they contacted my client pretending to be me (Identity theft) I reported them at Identitytheft.org. and the FTC complaint website for myself and my customer. If you do not report them they will continue to get away. Best to get a call back number and make sure they actually answer before filing complaints. Typically they will use a PRI redirect to scramble their caller ID and pretend to call from someone listed in your contacts if you have given them access to your computer. They can duplicate numbers and tell you a fake name. If you call back and get the person, that will be the REAL number associated with their scam. You can then report them. Using caller ID is useless.

Thank-you to everyone who has posted something.
My son's computer was frozen recently with an alert warning on his screen and an alarm sounding.
It arrived with a phone number to call urgently for assistance. I called. About half way through "the unlocking" the conversation with the techie (Sub Continent accent?) seemed to go off beam. I sensed something was not right. His logic was suspect as I started asking questions. I was able to terminate payment but I have received
continual phone calls and threats about criminal conduct re: Taxation with apparent surveillance of my home and warrants for my arrest if I don't call back and pay. The latest tact is a business like email from you guessed it.
Premium "BS"Technical Support. To be ignored at all cost!
    Goodluck

Just got a call from 1-800-304-9250, and the guy said he was with Premium Tech Support.  I asked him, "Are you in India?"  He said "No".  He wanted to "fix" my computer.  I told him it didn't need "fixing", but he mumbled something like there were some viruses inside my computer that he needed to clean up.  In the mood I was in at the time, just didn't want to argue with him and I hung up.  Anyone else get a call from THIS number???
