LA Fitness NAMES/EMAILS/NUMBERS to cancel membership!!!

LA Fitness tells you the "ONLY" way you can cancel your membership is for you to physically go into the gym and they will print off cancellation forms, which you will have to mail out yourself.  I sent my cancellations forms almost 2 weeks prior to having them take out the monthly gym fees. I felt this gave them enough time to cancel at its entirety BUT that didn't happen. I was so aggravated with the run arounds. I finally was able to get names/emails/numbers of individuals at LA Fitness headquarters who can make sure your membership is cancelled.  I do have to say "Orlando Gonzalez" was extremely professional and very cordial. He immediately reassured my memberships would be cancelled AND he would make sure I was reimbursed for the monthly fee they had just taken out.  Here is the information:   Orlando Gonzalez  (949) 255-7277  orlandog@lafitness.com  and Aylin Medina (pronounced Eileen) (949) 255-7330  aylinm@lafitness.com

    So frustrated w/LA Fitness.  Logged onto their website to cancel my membership, website took me to their "Cancellation Form".  I tried repeatedly to print the form, but it will not print, it won't even show me the form.  Perhaps it has something to do with Safari, I don't know.  I called my local gym who told me to come in to cancel, which I did, only to find out the only person qualified to cancel my membership was the manager and she only works Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.  I work Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:00pm.  I explained that I was having trouble viewing and printing the form to which I was told "go to the library."
    Ultimately I have filed a complaint with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, the Better Business Bureau and notified A top class action lawsuit attorney.  I will also be writing a letter to their corporate offices.  How many of the retirees that go to my gym do they think can cancel their membership online, especially when the link to the form is broken!?  And, what, I'm supposed to take vacation time to cancel a membership it took me all of 30 seconds to sign up for in the first place?  Dealing with Verizon customer service is 4 hours pleasantly spent compared to this worthless, garbage of a company.

    this sucks i cant even find the darn form on [***] line ..worse ever these people/place whatever need to find a better system to do this because this is not cutting it.,uuugh

    LA Fitness is [***] worse place ever. they lie in your face. When you sign up, make sure you record all the conversation with the them and once they told you all the lies at the end,  you can sue them!!

    I signed up for personal training and was told it would be 52 weeks, I said okay, but what I wasn't told was that after 52 weeks, they renew you to a month to month membership AUTOMATICALLY and no, they won't notify you when your year is up, you have to track it on your own! Oh and after 72 hours of signing (by signing I mean signing like you thought you were just authorizing your credit card but you are really signing the contract) you cannot get out of the contract (the sales guy will tell you, you can get out of it with a doctors note but he won't tell you that, even if you try, they will still charge you for the full year!). BUT like I said, I stuck it out for the year and thought my year was up next month, NOPE, my year ended in October and I was never notified, I found a phone number 949-255-7200 and cancelled right away over the phone and was immediately sent a confirmation email. I am hoping that's the end of that, I was very polite and nice with the operator, hope that helped. READ THE WHOLE CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING. OH and for the regular gym membership, pay a whole year upfront, that way they are not authorized for automatic charges and you decide if you want to renew, its not automatic.

    Emailed Aylin and Orlando--waited for half a day and no response, but I couldn't wait any longer so I called Diana who cancelled my personal training for me.

    I got the cancellation email within a few minutes, and still waiting for my refund. I will say that I cancelled within 3 days of signing up though...

    LA Fitness has the worst employees, the worst customer service, and they don't even know how to operate a channel changer for a TV. They have 11 TVs and not one of them was willing to change it to a sports channel, because they would get in trouble by their management. I'm wondering what kind of management do they operate under?but no I spoke to a front desk named Lindsay at the LA Fitness in Tacoma on 6th Ave, and the only help that she gave me was by rolling her eyes giving me her fake name and false information on filing a complaint. I guess that's all it takes to get hired. I can't believe the customer service, the dirtiness of the locker rooms, and every machine constantly being damaged. I would never recommend this establishment to anybody. You're better off with YMCA or 24 hour fitness, at least their employees are trained on customer service and at least providing that.

    Thanks to this post i was able to email both of them and then later got a cancel confirmation email from La Fitness. I was able to cancel with the 3 days of signing up, did not feel like it was a good deal or gym. It says i will be receiving a full refund so we will see, i will follow up when i receive said refund.

        Well I emailed the people on this post from the original person, but If you cancel now I don't know if they will give you a full refund.

    Thank you to the original poster! I emailed both people on friday and I got my confirmation that my membership has been cancelled yesterday  and I am able to work out until the end of this month. I already know what gym I will be headed to and it is cheaper! LA fitness bought out BAC gyms here and they were still charging me the BAC fee of $40, and had the nerve to tell me that they would not charge me the $30 they charge everyone else, but continue to charge me $40! Shame on you LA Fitness!

    I frozen my account in October but I wanted to cancel  my membership. I went to the Laftiness in April to cancel the membership at East Boca Raton, Florida. They asked me to print out and sent it to the headquarters. Then I got the printout and sent  it to P.O.Box, 54170, Irvine, CA.
    Yesterday I was checking my credit card, Cancelation was not done. Money was still deducted from my account. Then I went to LA fitness center ( East Boca raton, Florida), talked to the agent over there. He canceled the account immediately. I have not got my refund yet. Almost all the agents over there are rude, unapologetic.

    How do I can get my money back ?  Why the cancelation process is so painfull process ?

    I am exploring legal option as well for the hastle I have gone through. My family has been a member from past 5 years ( F14828931 )

    The PT folks at my local gym were really giving me the run around and playing with my emotions on cancelling.  I called the corporate number...they only sent me right back to the gym where i enrolled. I called  the corporate number again and they told me to complete a form online. This form is only to cancel your gym membership (which is not what i wanted). So i called the corporate number back for the third time. They told me i could send a certified letter to a PO Box and that would be the only way to cancel.
    So i just called Diana Dao ( got her number from this website) and she cancelled my personal training membership immediately! She was a tiny bit on the dry side but who cares i received a cancellation email like 30 seconds after speaking with her.

      Sugar Plum that's awesome! I wish she would have done the same for me, she was dry and just gave me useless info. For anyone trying to cancel personal training with her, I would not recommend her at all. I am going to contact the other two people mentioned on the post and hope for the best. Thanks so much for all the info everyone on this thread!

    Good afternoon,
    Thank you Sugar Plum, thru your contact information I have cancelled our L.A. Fitness membership.  We had no issues with L.A. Fitness other than the travel time. I would like to Thank you Diana Dao for making this a painless cancellation.
    I still have a lot of friends at this gym and may re-join at a later date. It just does not fit our needs at this time.
