LA Fitness NAMES/EMAILS/NUMBERS to cancel membership!!!

LA Fitness tells you the "ONLY" way you can cancel your membership is for you to physically go into the gym and they will print off cancellation forms, which you will have to mail out yourself.  I sent my cancellations forms almost 2 weeks prior to having them take out the monthly gym fees. I felt this gave them enough time to cancel at its entirety BUT that didn't happen. I was so aggravated with the run arounds. I finally was able to get names/emails/numbers of individuals at LA Fitness headquarters who can make sure your membership is cancelled.  I do have to say "Orlando Gonzalez" was extremely professional and very cordial. He immediately reassured my memberships would be cancelled AND he would make sure I was reimbursed for the monthly fee they had just taken out.  Here is the information:   Orlando Gonzalez  (949) 255-7277  orlandog@lafitness.com  and Aylin Medina (pronounced Eileen) (949) 255-7330  aylinm@lafitness.com

    It worked! I just called LA fitness club by my house they said it has been cancelled!

    FYI!! If you hare trying to cancel for medical problems I was told today you do not have to mail in ANYTHING! You can scan the forms and e-mail them in. I got my confirmation in 20 minutes! E-mailed this person who did it: Shemeen.lewis@lafitness.com

    Is there any more current contact info for canceling personal training? I HAVE to get out of mine without paying that 50% fee I knew nothing about.

      I had the same problem, but i ended negotiating with my Local gym employee to talk to the corporate office to lower the contract cancellation fee. Thats the best i could do. Let me know what works out for you.

        Hey! I am running into the same probs. My boyfriend and I signed up for a yr of PT but we are so busy we mostly just jog or workout at home. The payments are becoming very unaffordable due to expenses and him going back to school. Plus we barely make it in. I desperately need to cancel so we can have the extra money he will need for school. It will be close to $2k left to pay on the 7 months left. How much did they charge u to cancel the time remaining on your contract? I can not afford a lump sum payment of almost $1k let alone the over $300 a month we pay w our memberships and training combined. Please advise!!

    I cancelled my membership almost a year ago. Or so I thought.

    I took a look at my checking account the other day (I'm rather lax about managing my finances) and discovered that these slimeballs have been siphoning my account every month since I cancelled. I filled out their [***] form and sent it to headquarters as instructed and then forgot about it. Stupid me for trusting them. These greedy corporate [***] will stick it in your ass the first chance they get. I would not even have known except these pricks had the audacity to send me a late notice because my bank card had expired.

    Of course I should have sent it registered mail, hindsight is 20/20 and all that. All I have now is a copy of the form I sent, so it is my word against theirs. Looks like I am LA [***]!

      This just happened to me and I'm so F****** pissed.  They told me it's my fault even though I asked for a confirmation and the girl wouldn't give me one.  WTF?!

    Aylin was SO HELPFUL! JUST NOW my membership was cancelled! I dont understand why this process must be this difficult. How hard is it to cancel and just reimburse the $? Like seriously. It wasn't that hard of a process for LA to sign me up?! Anyways, I am just hoping for the best right now. Aylin told me she canceled, plain & simple. THEN I would be reimbursed my $30 & WONT be charged $89 next Friday. If all this DOESNT happen, well.........i'll have to definitely B*** & harrass the crap out of them until I get what they told me I would.

    I am a member of LA Fitness. I used to be part of Bally’s Total Fitness before you took over my contract.



    It is with great displeasure that I have to sit here writing you my terrible experience I am having with LA Fitness. When LA Fitness bought Bally’s I was ecstatic that finally a structured company had taken the ever so sad falling apart Bally’s Clubs.



    I imminently began thinking that the change much needed was coming to the club I visit that’s close to my house.



    I can tell you that while the club was under Bally’s it was not very clean friendly. Machines outdated, rust on the treadmills, locker rooms with lockers from the 70’s. No one in site to clean the floors weather it was inside the club or the Sauna and Steam room outside near the pool. The whirlpool Jacuzzi dirty all the time. No curtains in the Men’s Showers. However the Women’s does have curtains in there showers. The A/C is off in the men’s locker room. A/C in the main workout room must be set at 80!  



    Recap:

    Dirty Floors as soon as you walk in.

    Looker Rooms Dirty.

    Mo one cleaning anything.

    Machines have rust. The Cardio Machines

    Nobody racks the free weights

    There is dust around then cardio Machines

    The Free weights are old and peeling. Very Bad!!

    No Curtains in the Men’s showers.



    Outstide were the pool is,

    The wood in the sauna is rotten! Has never been changed in 10 years or more.

    There are not enough chairs to seat down.

    The chairs you lie-down are filthy dirty.

    The Sauna breaks almost every other day.

    Too much chlorine in the pool and Jacuzzi.



    If I were to rate this club

    0 - 10 - 10 Being totally dissatisfied

    I would rate it a 15







    The time has passed since LA Fitness took over the club and to my great surprise nothing has changed. What a complete disappointment. Rumors were that there was going to be changes with a total remake of the club. Nothing has happened.



    LA Fitness should be ashamed to have their name on the outside of this club. I need to get this e-mail to upper management so everyone and I in this club can get answers.



    Please have someone address my issues as there are many members in this club that feel the same way I do.



    I should be given free access to this club until a suitable upgrade is performed and LA Fineness standards are set to their highest level.



    Action needs to be taken. There is no need to have a club in this type of conditions.

    The original post was extremely helpful. Orlando answered my email promptly and politely, and the problem was resolved through email right away.

    I also received a class action lawsuit letter stating my qualification for compensation due to LA Fitness being taken to court for this exact issue. Hopefully they will find a new, more effective system and let their customers cancel online. We shall see.

    I'm trying to get out of a personal training contract with LA Fitness. I've been with them for 6 months but now my paychecks are getting smaller (they were already limited due to a personal situation) because there likely won't be any overtime available at my job for a while (I was using that overtime to pay for the PT contract). After reading all the complaints I've e-mailed Orlando and Aylina today. Hopefully this will work out for the best as I can't afford to pay the 50% cancellation fee.

      Were either of them able to help you cancel without paying the buyout fee? I am having trouble right now with that. The PT is never available or on time. Very unhappy and Diana Dao was not helpful at all. Hopefully people will see this thread and avoid LA fitness at all costs (literally).

    Holy crap I just called Aylin and she just cancelled my membership in a matter of seconds!! Thank you so much, I feel bad the fact that they are the only smart kind intelligent people enough to do something so simple as that. The two of them should earn medals.

    good afternoon I have a made several complaints to the LA office  on Wilshire blvd in Westwood.  The ladies lock room is so nasty that I rather go to work unshowered.  She in form me that they will give the cleaning lady more hours.  Well she did for 1 week.  If this is the way they run the office I rather not be a member.  I pay every month I feel I deserve to be in a place that clean.  I rather not have my name revealed but if it must I have no problem

    went to la fitness in allen park and Aaron the om I a [***] and he needs to be fired.i love Jennifer she cleans really good and barb cleans really good they need a raise and aaron told me they could not get one

    I had to send a letter to "corporate"...was never cancelled, they claimed they never received it.  I went to corporate and the ONLY person that can handle cancellations was vacationing in Bermuda..  I had to cancel my debit card so they couldn't deduct monthly payments.  They're horrible
