LA Fitness NAMES/EMAILS/NUMBERS to cancel membership!!!

LA Fitness tells you the "ONLY" way you can cancel your membership is for you to physically go into the gym and they will print off cancellation forms, which you will have to mail out yourself.  I sent my cancellations forms almost 2 weeks prior to having them take out the monthly gym fees. I felt this gave them enough time to cancel at its entirety BUT that didn't happen. I was so aggravated with the run arounds. I finally was able to get names/emails/numbers of individuals at LA Fitness headquarters who can make sure your membership is cancelled.  I do have to say "Orlando Gonzalez" was extremely professional and very cordial. He immediately reassured my memberships would be cancelled AND he would make sure I was reimbursed for the monthly fee they had just taken out.  Here is the information:   Orlando Gonzalez  (949) 255-7277  orlandog@lafitness.com  and Aylin Medina (pronounced Eileen) (949) 255-7330  aylinm@lafitness.com

This must be illegal, LA Fitness makes it impossible to cancel the membership.

I also had issues cancelling. However, I emailed Aylin Medina (aylinm@lafitness.com) and within an hour my membership was cancelled. Thanks for the info!

Update: have e-mailed the form to Ms Medina asking for cancellation. Got out of office reply. I did receive the receipt of cancellation about 40 min later so not sure if that was forwarded to someone else.
You guys are life savers. Thanks!

Didn't even bother with sending in the form so I just emailed Aylin and Orlando. Got a confirmation of my membership being cancelled within minutes. I can't complain too much.

I emailed Aylin and Orlando, but haven't heard from anyone yet. I suppose it's because of the weekend, but I hope I hear from them soon.

I'm cancelling my personal trainer contract within the 5-day period, pretty much the day after I signed the darn contract. I caved under the sales pressure, but came to my senses when I got home. It's just not worth over $800 for 2, 30-min. sessions a month, for 12 months.. nor can I afford it.

Should I send a certified mail notice as well? I don't think I need a cancellation form for the personal training contract, because it states that one should mail a cancellation notice... nothing suggests a form?

Emailing Aylin Medina (aylinm@lafitness.com) works. Sent an email with the cancellation form attached and my cancellation was confirmed in less than an hour.

Basically in a netshell, I need to move to Colorado because my mother is dying, she very sick

The Ops manager could care less because I need to cancel this membership and my personal training contract, as this is something I COULDN'T avoid.

I contacted Aylin Medina by email and she ended my membership but she said I still have to either pay 120 a month for the personal training, or pay 600 dollars to end it. This is ridiculous and an enormous amount of stress due to a future death in my family. I understand it's a contract, but is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY to END the personal training contract without having to pay the ridiculous money?? Please help!

Same thing I'm gonig through. I was lied to said I could cancel at ANY time with no mention of 800 I owe and then told six months not a year and they did a year. Then I was in an emergancy situation and had to move my family out of an abusive home over night with no money left. They care less! I will pray for you.

Just moved from another state where there are no LA Fitness clubs so naturally I'm gonna cancel my membership. Called the number for the club where I am still a member and was advised to log on to their website (via creating an account by entering member key tag and zip code) which doesn't work, confirming many of the previous claims listed on this forum. Will be calling the club back at the first opportunity when business hours permit to inform them of this discrepancy. It'll be interesting to see their response and how many hoola hoops I'll have to jump through to get this supposedly simple task done.

I think it is ridiculous how they have the technology to make sure that they get their automatic payments each month, but cant cancel you membership when you call.  It doesnt make sense why you have to go through so much just to cancel.

I had no been going to LA Fitness and I had the automatic transfer to pay my bill, so what I did was call my bank and ask them to not let LA Fitness withdraw from my acnt again, now does that cancel my membership or is it just adding up, I did not have a contract for a year is kind of a pay as you go

    Just contact Orlando Gonzalez  (949) 255-7277  orlandog@lafitness.com

I called and left Orlando a message and the next day, I received a call from a rep named Diana.  She was quite helpful in getting my issue resolved so I have no complaints.

    JUST CONTACT ORLANDO!

Printed and e-mailed a copy of the form over to Orlando (Used GeniusScan iPhone app to make it a pdf) and received a cancellation confirmation within minutes. Grateful to the site!
